wait, does Franklin actually have a confirmed 2 strikes though?

i believe there a several senior Hawks players on 2 strikes, unnamed. A lot of people believe that Buddy is one of them.

A lot of people also believed Swan has 3 strikes earlier this year. I don't understand why people must drag both the player's and club's credibility through the mud with this kind of stuff.

I am a Hawk supporter, so read this with bias if you wish. But this goes for any player or club. The way people throw around the negative imagery of a strike really makes me ill sometimes. Players are human, and yes while there are the idiotic players who binge out on drugs and make a mockery of the system, there are players who are in need of serious help with drug related problems. Like Tuck a few years back with depression. Or even Cousins. They are kept in secret because of this kind of judgment.

This is not an attack at anyone, I just dont think rumours being thrown around about this stuff help anybody. Like Mr. Craig said if Buddy or any player had recieved their 3rd strike it would be made public.

If a sportsperson excels so much beyond what is expected or assumed, then they most likely they all believe their is some evil behind the success.

Look at the Chinese girl for example, she got panned by many saying she was a 'drug cheat' or recently the 3 Jamaican runners finishing 1,2 & 3. Now they are saying their on drugs.

Give me a break.

Mate I hear you, but I'm not here to pass any judgement on the player/s just raised it for selection/trade reasons. Last I looked that's what this forum was for. I am not posting in an effort to tarnish the player/s reputation, i think they do a good enough job of that themselves.

On a lighter note its already been widely publicised that buddy likes speed.... ::)

So what's everyones opinion, should we pull the trigger or not?  I'm very tempted to, but knowing my luck he will come back next week against GC.  I've got just enough cover this week with Dickson and Robbo back, but I'm just not sure on what to do. =/

With Pav and Danger in good form it's hard to look past that.  I too have obviously held him for this long, but I only held him as I figured he would be back before the finals.  Now finals are here it throws everything out of whack.  I only have two trades, but I can get any forward I want (basically, Pav, Danger or Stevie J) and I hate having premiums sitting on the bench when I have no idea when they are coming back.  I'm also in an elimination final in my main league, so I want to make sure of the win, even though I'm very confident I'll win anyway.  If I were to trade I'm leaning towards Danger as that run home looks immense.

at the end of the article it suggests buddy will be back next week. Fingers crossed asotherwise he will continue to be stuck on the pine with no trades left...

I held him and I'm glad as I will cruise to victory (opponent had Chappy and Smedts on field and also has Buddy playing too).  If he's back next week then that's awesome, but if not I'm pulling the trigger.

Don't have any trades left but if he's out again I'll be pulling the trigger aswell.

Bones Bombers

Would the Police have tested Buddy for alcohol and drugs when he was caught speeding or had his accident?

Bruce McAvaney

Haha you people are so silly. Franklin didn't get his 3rd strike recently. He got it all the way back in 2008. He's a money making machine so the AFL and Hawthorn do everything in their power to keep it quiet. Drugs are rife in the AFL, especially the Brown and Gold. Ever wondered why Sam Mitchell was made captain instead of Hodge? Hmmm.
