IMO the team almost picks itself, the 2 players vying for the last spot are Starc and Lyon.

Starc has been in incredible form in the shorter formats of late, but it is always handy to have a specialist spinner in your team.. leading me to believe that Starc will miss out.

also where is Patty Cummins?? get him in there.

but he's been playing for the Sydney Sixers in the IPL? i guess that's only 4 overs though ay... hope he can get over his injuries because he has a great future ahead of him

JBs-Hawks

Hes not injured but he's gonna have to earn his spot and prove his fitness playing first class cricket, cant give him a go on t20 form when we already have 4 blokes who deserve there spots

Does VIC play any games soon as they will lose Siddle and Pattison. Maybe one of them??

Cruiseon

Yeah Vic's play a shield game at the G wich finishes just before Cup Day. Can't remember against who. I don't think Siddle, Pattinson & Wade will play much for Victoria, they were even rested for the ODI against Tassie although Ponting & Cowan played.

He hasn't played any first class cricket since the Jo'burg test which was over a year ago now. They want to give him a bit of shield cricket before they let him play test matches again. I think he will feature in the Sri Lankan series.

Apparently Cummins has been pencilled in for the 3rd test with the rotation of the quicks.

I hate this stupid rotation policy. IMO you should play your best XI every game, and if they get injured, then they can come back after injury. You can see why they are doing it, but I have never seen a cricket team have an effective policy like this before. We just need to get as much cricket as possible into the young players so they can become better.

This is why Cummins is some way off from a long summer of cricket.

ANOTHER injury? This guys is more injury-prone than Shane Watson
He's only about 19 or 20 and probably still growing.

Yeah that's true, but look at all the bowlers we have at the moment (most of them young)

Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc, James Pattinson, Peter Siddle, Ben Cutting, Kane Richardson, Jackson Bird, Ben Hilfenhaus, Patty Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, etc

Looking good for the future there

totally agree, if they can stay fit then there will be some great battles for bowling positions in the future. The spinners are the worry for me. No standouts coming through. Too many part time spinners willing to play T20 instead of tests
