Short term - Hawthorn is better off

Long term - Collingwood is better off

Years Carlton let Fev get away with murder, and it blew up to the point that the Blues haven't recovered. With a disciplined Fev, the Blues could have won a grand final last year.

This is probably true but it's not really comparing apples with apples is it, Fev and Buddy?

Whilst it could be argued that Buddy should have copped more of a penalty from the club for speeding and losing his license, that's his only confirmed indiscretion isn't it? It hasn't been detailed as to who was at fault for the car accident and even if he was at fault it's hardly worthy of a club sanction is it? (unless of course he was speeding, drunk, driving recklessly, etc.).

swan gets banned for breaking a club policy that he and the other players swore on, that could theoretically detrimentally affect him game. That being said, it's a bs policy that sends the wrong message that 'we don't trust our players to have a beer after they win a game, alcohol turns all people into monsters', blame the pies for making such a bs pos statement. Buddys driving doesnt affect his game play.

he lost his license, which he should have. His loss of license had not come into affect before the accident. I really doubt he was at fault, because if he was it definitely would have been spewed out in the media. He's now educating the entire hawks team in a drivers safety course- which is what he should do, and is appropriate, he also donated money to drivers awareness from memory?

basically, what happened with buddy is completely correct and appropriate way to deal with the situation. The swan suspension is, imo also correct, as from disobeying the rules, he is demonstrating a lack of commitment and dedication. That being said, it's a ridiculous policy.
