Already looking to the week after with collingwood, not too worried about a team that has only won 3 of its last 9.
we did see what they could do today
maybe essendon could win this (hope they dont) there is alot to play for
what? lose? :P
Well they came close to a team away from home who should be top 2

if the game ends in a draw that helps freo
If I were you I think North smashing Essendon would be the best outcome, because they have a tougher run home than us and you could move above them if they lose. North and Freo in the finals, yeah baby! ;)

either way if North smash the Bombers Freo still have to beat North in the last round to win but with a draw we dont need the result against Adelaide to make it
Not the last round ;) We play you in Rd22 of 23.

A draw would help you, but seems very unlikely. (hasn't been one all year!)

The way I see it, whoever wins out of Essendon and North will almost guarantee a finals spot, and the other will be competing with Freo (unless Freo beat Crows then it's still a 3 way race!) and looking at Essendon's draw compared to North's, I think if I were Freo I'd prefer to be competing with Essendon for that spot.

Essendon's Run Home (one of these will be a game clear and safe in the 8 after Sunday's game)
vs Carlton (MCG)
vs Richmond (MCG)
vs Collingwood (MCG)

Hopefully either Carlton or Richmond can cause an upset, as Bombers would need probably all 3 of these if they lose Sunday.

North's Run Home (one of these will be a game clear and safe in the 8 after Sunday's game)
vs Collingwood (Etihad)
vs Fremantle (Etihad)
vs GWS Giants (Skoda)

Unless we play like Port you could pencil in at least one win there, and the fact it's in Melbourne makes me think North should get up over Freo.

Fremantle's Run Home (assuming they lose to the Crows)
vs Richmond (Subi)
vs North (Etihad)
vs Melbourne (Subi)

The fact you play Richmond at Patersons should mean a win, so you would bank 2 out of 3 there (win against Melb) and the other is close to 50/50.

So, kinda went a bit overboard but I think if I were a Freo fan, I'd be hoping for a draw but if not a North win!

I reckon the next four weeks are probably going to be the most exciting month of football in a very very long time. ;D ;D

Another interesting point to raise is the teams sitting in 6th and 7th, Geelong and West Coast.

Geelong's Run Home: West Coast (A), St. Kilda (A), Bulldogs (A) and Sydney (H).
West Coast's Run Home: Geelong (H), Port Adelaide (A), Collingwood (H), Hawthorn (A).

Now Freo, Essendon and North are only a game behind Geelong and West Coast.

West Coast have a horror run home and what would be extremely beneficial is to see West Coast finish in either 7th or 8th, cause I'd hate to play West Coast over in Perth, plus should we beat Essendon and Freo, it would give us a home final! ;D

Should we fail to finish 6th and get a home final, then I hope we somehow manage to finish 8th and play Geelong at Etihad in the first week of finals. We've beaten them once before...and by god, we can do it again! 8)

Yeah I've noticed that we're closing in on West Coast, I thought a few weeks ago we could overtake Geelong, but I've resigned to the fact that they'll finish 5th.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Eagles only win 1 more game (Port). West Coast have a better percentage than us, but that gap could be closed if we smash the Giants and Port are reasonably competitive. But if the Eagles lose to Geelong, Pies and Hawks we would only need to win one against either Essendon, Freo or Collingwood to leapfrog them.

If we finished 8th we'd play Geelong at the G wouldn't we?

Yeah it's really going to come down to this weekends game between West Coast and Geelong that'll decide home elimination finals. Should West Coast win, they'll finish 5th or 6th. Should Geelong win, then West Coast are in real danger of missing out on a home final.

Should North, Freo or Essendon win 3 out of the next four game (which is possible for any of them), then they'd certainly leapfrog West Coast and finish in 6th, giving them a home elimination final, which would be incredibly handy.

If we finished 8th and Geelong finshed 5th, then we probably would play them at the G. :-\ We actually played them at the G back in 2007, and Geelong have played their last 5 home finals there. Plus, there may not be another game in Melbourne should Hawthorn and Collingwood finish 3rd and 4th respectively and West Coast finish 6th.

Of course, even if we were to make finals then win our elimination final, we'd then have to come up against one of Adelaide, Sydney, Collingwood or Hawthorn in the semis.... :'(

That's alright. I would be happy with the season if we just made the finals, if we win a final then I'd be ecstatic. Not too worried if we get knocked out after two weeks as we are still developing and getting closer and closer to really pushing for those spots. But not yet, the goal for this season was just to make the finals, next year win a final or two and go from there.

Haha at least that means that Essendon's last :P

Torpedo10

This is North's to lose. Hoping the Bombers put out a fight but doubt it. too many injuries this season. short term pain, long term gain.
