Harley Bennell - 2013 DT Smokey

This guy is a gun and took the cherries for BOG today with a massive score of 156 in DT and 193 in SC

38 disposals, 7 marks, 4 tackles and 4 goals

I am  picking him right here as my 2013 DT Smokey and I reckon he could be like Paddy Dangerfield or Brad Ebert (in terms of a mid-pricer edging closer to premium status)


Anybody else on the Bennell Bandwagon?

Based on this year's price gauge if Swan is $600K then Bennell will be about $350-380K IMO

Could be a MID-FWD too

For a mid he is competing with the likes of Swan, Pendles, Ablett, Watson, Boyd, Stanton, Thompson, Cotchin, Jelwood, etc to be in my 6 next year.
i don't think he's there yet.

I've never started with mid price players in the mids, as many of the gun rookies can score comparably and make you a lot more $$. Bennell will be a jet in the future but is still a fair way off moving into the premium bracket.  He played very well today but has only tonned up a handful of times this season.

If he still has MPP, I will almost certainly get him. If he's mid only, I almost certainly won't. I don't think he is the kind of player who will ever reach super-premium status as a midfielder. I am considering David Swallow for 2013 though, he will be a fair bit cheaper than Bennell and is just as likely to average 100+ IMO.

I like the look of Broadbent but he will be closer to 420k with his 80 odd avg  :-\

Am willing to pay that kinda money if he is a MID-FWD; if he is a MID-only then probably not
