That one day in September 2007.... the power's been off since

the big questio is, who would want to come to Port now ?

I think they will have to look at Scotty Burns, or somebody else who has been an assistant coach and wants to enter the big time. Still, you'd have to be a brave man to wanna coach this mob the way they are going

I was just saying it should by Scotty Burns, great minds

The other way of looking at it would "hey, I couldn't do a worse job...."

Btw, not saying Primus was doing horrible, Port started the season pretty good really

I could see this coming though...  :-\

you'd have to be Blind Freddy not to!

Purple 77

Dean Bailey should apply!!!!!!!!!

No jks I hate him so much  :P

CrowsFan

One of the nicest guys going around, plus he did improve the team from last year. Think it's a bit harsh really. Although I'm not saying I didn't enjoy watching the Power lose to the Giants :D

PowerBug

our biggest loss for the year was.... 58 pts vs Adelaide. last year we lost to Hawthorn and Collingwood by well over 100, in consecutive weeks.

Port have actually been very good this year, i think not converting one of those 4 games early in the year to top 8 sides (Essendon, Sydney, Collingwood, Adelaide) really hurt especially since we were in a position to knock at least 2 of them off. At least we knocked off GC this year, along with some nices wins vs North (:P) and Carlton (>:D).

Anyway, need to look forward now,

Fair point you raise PB. Looking back on the year, it does seem like the sacking is a bit harsh. :-\

I'm with pb. Port have improved substantially from last year, when they were just a joke. That's because of primus. This game was lost by the players, not the coach.

CrowsFan

You honestly can't blame Primus for the loss yesterday. The people who should be blamed are the players themselves. There were only 2 people I saw from Port who put in any effort to try and win the game. Seriously should not have been sacked before the players!!

Spinking

Don't really know enough about their list to comment, but listened to some discussion on the ABC radio today around the concern being Primus' ability to get the team 'up' for matches that they should win. Collectively as a team they are improving but apparently there were questions about whether Primus could instil a winning culture.

Port fans may be able to comment more about the accuracy of that?

expect port to get worse after this

I would hate to see them get any worse. Cause at the moment, they really can't get much worse after losing to GWS by 6 goals.
The funny thing is with all this talk about Port being at its "lowest point", they are still above the Bulldogs and Melbourne on the ladder! Doesn't say much for them does it.........

Ziplock

it's incredibly disrespectful to gws as well lol, like they're a young team, who try their guts out every week to win, and when they finally get it, it's labelled as the most pathetic moment in a clubs history :P

McRooster

I found it humorous that whilst at the game ( Adelaide v Essendon) this afternoon the word began spreading around like wildfire as if it was some big shock. Surely blind Freddy saw it coming, seriously. Adelaide supporters can be so naive sometimes and live so much. In their own little bubble.

^ This, and the writing on the wall when factional intervention prevented Mark Williams getting his preferred Captain choice (Shaun Burgoyne) and going for Dom Cassisi.

Mark Williams was hamstrung by beauracracy, Primus was simply hung by the ropes he kept having to jump over to get his best out the promising group at his disposal. This group will now have a cloudy focus, this fallout will take a long time to heal. Keith Thomas has essentially just culled one of his own (Norwood) - perhaps it was euthanasia ahead of more difficult times...

There has to be more as to why were Rodan and Pfeiffer not playing? - David Rodan had 22 touches, kicked a goal, 6 clearances and was third best on ground in Norwoods pounding of Sturt Friday night, and Pfeiffer (in Ports best three last week) was Norwoods fourth best with 18 touches, 4 inside 50's, 3 rebound 50's and had 4 clearances.

In the end Primus was sick of being told what to do, thus endeth the sickness.
