Ok lets assume, Cloke is leaving collingwood, should we go after him.

Petrie is a star but he is quite old and with cloke at CHF it would take pressure of Petrie. If cloke can get his form of last year it could create one of the best forward lines in the comp.

Or will it eat into our budget and mess up our game plan of fast handballs.

No. We are fine when it comes to key forwards, sure it would be great to have a Cloke/Petrie forward line, that would be almost unbeatable, but think that's getting a bit greedy and we need to address the issues that are lacking more than work on our already strong points.

i cant believe you would want him, besides you will struggle to afford that midfield you are developing if you pour $5M into one key fwd.

swallow
anthony
ziebel
bastinac
cunnington
atley

several others that are developing slower or maybe not at all

black, hansen, kennedy, may develop into solid fwd options so i think recruiting a key fwd is unnecccessairy until petrie retires then you will need one. problem with the drafted key fwds is they take 4-6 years to develop....

now there is a ruck coming through we are all a little excited about that can potentially be a fwd option as well i personally think he should feature next year pinch hitting in fwd ruck contests and playing as a fwd .... MAJAK DAW !

North struggle when Petrie, HMAC and Goldy are in the same lineup so why would you want another tall

Hit the nail on the head there Colli! We do have room in the salary cap but that's because our squad is young and developing, once those midfielders you named (also Adams, Gibson, Harper, McKenzie, Wright, Speight) all get a bit older and become very strong players we will need more coin to keep them all...Cloke could ruin that.

Add Tarrant, Hansen, McKinley, Pedersen, Edwards, Warren, Daw, Black, Kennedy to the equation.. (also up and coming ruckman Ben Mabon)

Not to forget the players I listed in the previous post ;) Ayden Kennedy played well on the weekend, while Edwards, Pedersen, McKinley and Daw continue to put in solid performances in the reserves.

Tarrant looks really promising though, doesn't he? Like Scott has said, they work really well as a unit (Hansen, Petrie, Tarrant) and it's usually one of Tarrant or Hansen who has a quiet game while the other one and Petrie fire. If McIntosh returns he could replace Hansen but I'd be slightly reluctant.

If he can survive this season injury free then I think that's a step in the right direction!

oh yeah hansen well he is another key forward, imo Mckinley will not make the north line up because if he was what the eagles expected him to be he would already have fitted in to the north melbourne line up :)

He's been doing really well in the VFL, but at the moment there is a big line of KPP at North waiting for a gig.
