Here's mine;

1. B.Smedts $172,600 to T.Cloke $396,600 Round 13

(Not only lost the ability to now sub him forward and trade an injured player, but brought in the 'cloke of invisibility' and actually paid money for it!)

unlucky. on paper that trade is fine. it just didn;t work out at all.

way worse trades are those that traded broughton/lake after one bad game early in the year (for example, but same applies for any prem in that situation), it just shows a complete lack of fundamental understanding in the way the game works.

thewizz

Just about everyone of mine this year  >:(

Ziplock

nope. Trading broughton early would have been a smart move.

my worst...

dangerfield---> cornes probably takes it.

danger had only scored average against GC + WBD, and cornes was averaging 114 playing what looked like a slutty HB role.

two trades wasted right there lol.

Are you kidding??? I call it cutting your loses. I traded out both Dustin Martin and Broughton after 2 games for Pendles and some left over cash. Broughton and Dusty to a lesser extent are a waste of space.

I disagree with this, i traded out Broughton for Dempsey - turned out to be one of my better moves, altho there has been little difference between the 2 and at first I could have kicked myself.  Freeing up the money with that trade made it so much easier with trade tactics going forward.  Had I kept Broughton I would have had no free cash

MC

I traded Gary Ablett to flowering Jack Ziebell.. Who was super cheap and had a low b/e...
Ziebell averaged like 70 and is now suspended, and guess who I traded back in....

I think that so far I win.

actually, i reiterate my my original claim, this shows a complete lack of understanding about the fundamentals of the game. in this case the two most pertinent points are 1. trades are golden, and 2. dont trade premiums.

you put broughton in your team to start the year because you considered him to be a keeper. one or two bad games is not defining for a premium. cases in point, go back to about r4 or r5 on this SC page and look for all the 'omg big cox sux i gotta trade now!' threads, or the 'wtf is wrong with swan?!?!? knew i shoulda taken pendles for the extra $$$' threads. now look at how they're going.

the fact that it may've worked out for you two in this instance is more a case of good fortune than anything else.

in response to simma's "cutting your loses" point, after two rounds or thereabout you dont even know what your loses are so to say you cut them is just wrong.

KoopKicka

Trading in Clancee Pearce instead of Danger *facepalm*

you just posted in a dempsey thread that you would get rid of him if you weren't so low on trades. how is that a good move?

Nah i'd question it more, purely for more money now and recent performances - this was more about trading out Broughton though - of which I stand by and am happy with.

Fever, I put Broughton in my team on the proviso to him playing as a permanent midfielder, not as a lock down defender or forward. Once it was obvious that Lyon was not going to settle him into the midfielder (2 rounds in) he went from a premium to a pain in the ar*e so I traded him. If you couldn't see this then I would question your ability to watch a game of football and understand what roles players have and how that affects their scoring.

Yes, I cut my loses - was I wrong was I? How has Broughton performed this year? Shocking - I cashed him in for better options. Sorry Pal but it seems you are the one that doesn't have a clue here!

P.S. Do you still have Broughton in your team? How's that working out for you ATM?
