This article confirms what a lot of fans have been saying Brown does not get a fair go up forward compared to other forwards.

"The Lions' skipper has won 19 free kicks in 14 matches, well behind fellow power forwards Nick Riewoldt (33), Drew Petrie (29) and Lance Franklin (28)."

Was blatantly evident in the game against St Kilda where Riewoldt got 3 frees 2 dubious at best including the one that put Saints in front and Brown none despite 2 blatant in the back which even commentators agreed with.

I watched some of the Gold Coast game and it seemed that Brown was not being paid the free kicks he deserved. Warnock was often holding him and not giving him a fair run at the contest, but he got nothing.

Could complain about the Adelaide duo too. In 15 games Tippett has won just 21, and Walker has won just 9 frees in 11 games!!
I remember going to the Swans vs Crows game and every time the ball went near Tippett the defender would blatantly hold on to both his arms stopping him from getting a run at the ball and then a second defender would come in and spoil. He didn't win a single free kick!

flower, I hate the terminology 'win' a free. It gives the notion that frees should be played for an 'won', hence how things like ducking occur. Frees are given generally something unsafe's happened. You shouldn't play for unsafe conduct, it's against the spirit of the game, and is stupid.

rant over.
