Which players do we believe to be essential for next year? As in, that every team cannot go without.

Pendles in the mid.

Franklin in the fwd.

Dunno about rucks & defense is all over the shop really. Lids might lose his DPP as well as Andy C.  :-\

Beams if he somehow manages to keep his MPP status.

Waters, Pendles, Mumford (will be cheap and over injuries), buddy

LF

Mids Cotchin
Fwd Franklin
Rucks maybe Nic Nat
Def maybe Hanley

That's the problem. IMO there will/should be shake up of DPP's this year to make it more like an actual team. With actual fwds.

Stevie J should be DPP next year.

Gibbs will regain his DPP. Hopefully Lids will keep his and that'll be my two lock-ins for defence straight away. I hope Beams, Dangerfield and Sidearse all keep theirs too.

For me:

Defence: Hanley,Carrots(if MPP is retained), Birchall, Gibbs (if MPP)
Mids: Pendles, either one of GAJ/Swan, depending on whether Boak gors to the cattery Broadbent, O'Meara, Crocuh
Rucks: Leuenberger/NicNat (personally I will probably be starting with both.)
Fwds: Rockliff (if MPP), Buddy

shuester

Defence: Bock-Heppel
Mids: Pendles-Gaff-Shuey
Ruck: Sandilands (If fit)-Nic Nat
Forwards: Franklin-Zorko-Beams

If zorko and beams are still mid-fwd's

If Stevie J is MPP then he'll be a lock for my forwards.

The burger should be a lock in every good ruck division along with grundy.

If roughead remains a F/R you would be silly not to have him.

Jroo

T.Cotchin a lock for mid 4 behind Swan Ablett and Pendles

I agree with Cotchin - the bloke is an absolute gun.  Leuenberger in the ruck will be cheap - I hope he plays a couple of games at the end of this season and scores poorly to lower his value.  Nathan Bock and Jarrod Harbrow will be worth having a look at.  Max Bailey might be cheap and if he can stay fit might be worth a look.  Heppell will be a lock if he is DPP.  You would also have to seriously consider Scully or Ward at GWS if they are under 400K - GWS will be a lot better next season.

Based on this year's positions, I would select the following:

Defence - Birchall, Scotland, Waters, Deledio
Midfield - Swan, Boyd, Pendles
Ruck - None
Forward - Franklin

Swan Ablett Franklin Marc Murphy - they are the only locks in my opinion.

Carrots, Lids and beams won't have DPP and there are better mid premiums.

Hodgey could be a nice discount premium midprice if he doesn't get too many more games.
