McEvoy - A Terrible Ruck?

Now I've got McEvoy in my DT and yes he is a fantasy SLUT.

But this is the first time I've ever really taken notice of him...

He is getting SMASHED in the ruck, he's not even getting NEAR the hit outs, Mumford is absolutely SMASHING him. This is reflected in the stats as well: Mumford 14 Hit Outs vs. McEvoy 4

Yes he's great @ fantasy, but is he a terrible ruckman? Do you have him in your team? Are you considering getting him for Giles if you still have Giles?

I upgraded Giles to him last week...nice 100 on debut. Was tossing up between him and Jacobs but went with McEvoy for consistency.

He's a fantasy slut, but looking at him from a pure ruck tap point of view he was TERRIBLE in the first quarter.

He takes a lot of marks, and that's where a lot of his points come from.

Don't rate him as one of the best rucks, but he can't be that bad, can he?


And why is he getting so many points now... I had him before he was injured, and he only got 80 every week :(
Of course when he's back from injury and I traded him out... then he does good ::)
Only positive from trading him, was that I traded to Maric and pocketed $30k at the time. Back then Maric was getting lots of 80's and 90's, then I got him in after his first(or second) ton. :)

I would say yes. He is pretty poor in the ruck department.

He is not terrible at all.
Still maturing hitouts wise but he takes a lot of marks from opposition kicks and works back to help the defence.

Wait until you lads see Brodie Grundy. He is sooo over hyped. Yes he racks up the stats but he isnt a good ruck. He is a decent Full Foward but his tap work is terrible. He wins taps in the SANFL and 18s through body work. In 18s he is a full grown man rucking against skinny lads but in the AFL he will be the small one. He has terrible tap work...

Mcevoy is a spud but so is Stanton so is Clancee Pearce but they all score
