An alcohol free party wouldnt be such a bad thing, trust me.

Im 24 and have just been told that for the next 6-12 months I cant drink alcohol, soft drink, milk, nothing but boiled tap water.
Cant eat fatty foods, cook with oil, have 100 foods to steer clear clear of..

The reason? My liver is badly damaged from drinking.

I love a beer and haven't heard of an alcohol free party since I was about 15. I Have been on the drink from about 16 years old till just recently, binge drinking every weekend and occasionally during the week.
I Noticed I was always so tired and my hangovers had been getting unbearable and always had an aching pain down my right side and had an ultrasound and some blood tests done and they basically said that my liver isn't coping and its damaged and that im lucky it didnt go on much longer or I would have needed a transplant.

Luckily the liver heals itself so I dont have to nurse it this way forever, but ill definitely be a bit smarter in the future. Got a long summer of alcohol free parties coming up this year (for me anyway) so I better get used to it.

On the bright side Ive been off the sauce and onto the healthy eating for a month and I feel a million bucks already. Starting to see some ab definition come back which is nice to ;)

this happened to a mate of mine.

well it was slightly different, turned out he had glandular and had been drinking... but flowered his liver and had to stay off it for 6 months.

Dude, how much were you drinking.. lol...

Too much! partied way to hard. But yep thats actually the same as me, had Glandular fever as well and didn't even know.

Jumping into the conversation a bit late...but anyway.

Being a 95 born, I'm only 17 and so when I go to parties with my mates I'm one of the only ones not drinking. Although, with that said, I know most of my year level started drinking at like 15. Nearly everyone in my family has had some kind of health problem, with at half of those being alcohol/smoking related. Dad had a stroke after drinking/smoking for like 25 years and rarely even going to the doctor. It's because of that I've already decided that I'm not gonna drink. Many people hate it when I say that, but ultimately do respect it.

I love going to parties and watching all my friends get drunk though, keeps me entertained. But yeah, since I started going to parties, which hasn't been long, I don't think I've ever been to an alcohol-free one.

When you start driving it is easier and people stop hassling you since you become the designated driver and save them lifts home

Well done mate, my family have similar issues but only alcohol related, dad has had multiple strokes. i didnt start drinking till i was 18 and dont really drink that much now, havent had an alcoholic beverage since NRL GF and no soft drink in 3 weeks (trying to get fit). I have full respect for you for not drinking alcohol and i agree parties are still fun even if you dont drink. I do it alot, driving makes you not drink imo and yes i am over 30 and still on my "p"s

I'm a tad lazy and still haven't even gotten my L's yet and most of my friends are on their P's, so I kinda have to catch up to become the designated driver which they'll love me for no doubt.

I'm more than happy to have a Coke, Pepsi or whatever anyway.  8)

I went out last night. Had some drinks. Got drunk, threw up, went home cause I felt sick instead of going out. Due to this doing nothing tonight :(. That's my story.

Also never ears of Coke or Pepsi, what's that?
