I hope Boak stays. Geelong are on the decline & Port are improving.
Did you miss last nights game Windi?

Good to see Boak sticking around, admirable  8)

Rumors are of around 600k for two seasons = 1.2 million, meaning Port will have to trim some fat.

Geelong had tabled 450k a season, but for an unspecified longer period.

trim the fat? how can port even even be using the majority of their salary cap :/
Correct me if I'm wrong anybody, but I think it is an AFL rule that you must spend at least 92% of your salary cap  ???

Plenty of overpaid blokes at Alberton one would suggest then....

I think that if Geelong want to have any chance of staying on level with the leagues best they need to make a signing from another club and Boak would be a priority.

I will correct you from what i've heard. You need to use all your salary cap every year.

Either way travis Boak getting a pay rise meaning others are getting less to see him stay. So there would be some players at port sorta hoping that he leaves, so they get more money themselves.

sounds like a certainty to move

not sure why on Earth he would even want to stay - by staying at Port he gets less money; less resources; less on-field success - mates and loyalty is the only thing that'll make him stay

Actually at Port he would make more money.

and he can claim to be the best player ;D (though Hamish might argue, so would I) unlike Burgoyne who/s now a list player ;)

Bruce McAvaney

Boak and Chaplin are gone. Travis told Primus yesterday that he's leaving.

A club in crisis who else will leave?

But it's true. Port will offer him more money than Geelong can.

North have a fair whack in the salary cap and are targeting him... look out!
