now we all know the cats have been the most skilled and powerful team since 2007 to 2011 but this year they have seemed to have lost their touch I do wonder is it one thay are an ageing team 2 they have lost the hunger from winning so much or 3 they miss ling and ottens

Spinking

I think there are a lot of factors at play. You are right, they are an aging squad but I think that because of their success they haven't been able to bring many decent kids through. They have also struggled since Ottens to have an effective ruckman. Bet they regret losing Mummy now...

the flying hawk

yeah i reckon they they are kicking themselves about it

Cicjose

Ziplock

I can honestly imagine the cats only winning 1 of their remaining games. I don't think they're going to make the 8.

Bunyip, we didn't even have a build-up this time.

You guys missed Bartel a lot and Hawkins need to learn to convert but it was rather convincing. I said at the start of the year that both 2011 Grand Finalists would not make the GF this year. I hope I'm wrong as Geelong are highly unlikely but still don't think the Pies are that good...... yet. We'll see in a month.

Ok, OK. The pies were too good. I had the "privelidge" to witness saturdays game. Collingwood are continuing on their merry way like last season . If I was a Collingwood supporter I'd be saving up for a GF ticket now.
Geelong on the other hand.....
I am not giving up hope of making the finals. Our form is a worry, but it's not September yet. We have to win 4 more games I reckon to make it. It's all about getting games into the young players who will carry us into our next successfull era. Scotty is having a good look at a lot of our up and commers.
It's easy to forget that we have beaten one or two good teams this year.
There are lots of reasons why our form is inconsistant this season, but, I for one, have not put the cue in the rack yet. If we win the first final and get the next one at home, we will cause problems. A lot of ifs I know, but, we can do it.
Essendon are at their weakest at the moment, so I give us a good chance on Friday.
By the way, I'll be going to that one to, so if anyone wants to meet me their I'd be happy to arrange it.

the flying hawk

they have had some bad injuries vardy menzel and varcoe but i still feel they miss ottens in the ruck and i think hawkins needs to spend time in the VFL

upthemaidens

cant stay on top forever,, time to re-build at the cattery me thinks

true might be a good option they have been on top for a while

Hey guys, we've started about a dozen new players so far this season and we are STILL in the 8. We are trying to stay competative and rebuild at the same time. S'not easy.

Bunyip, the new starters will pay dividends in due course, no doubt. I also think there is no need for cue in the rack, keep playng the young guys and then see what happens. Sounds like the Boak rumour continues to gain legs as well.

My concern, and I've been watching him closely for awhile is a bloke like Chappy. Have always liked him, he hardly gets going until the second half anyomre when the sting is out of the game. He looks so slow/bulky when the pace is on then comes back into it. If you weren't playing so many kids, I think the ballsy call would be to play him as a sub. Geelong has to manage its old players as well as its young for a successful transition.

Stevie J on the other hand is still a freak. Watching him in the midfield is better than watching him in front of goal.

the flying hawk

how old is chappy he has been kicking for a while
