Swan come off of the training track with suspected hip problem, sources say collingwood will name him and give him until the 11th hour to see if he is fit. (SEN)

- Collingwood star Dane Swan could be in doubt this weekend against Geelong. He suffered a minor hip injury against Carlton last Friday night, and was seen leaving training early in some discomfort and holding the area he injured.

It is believed that he will still be named in the Collingwood team tonight, and also given until the 11th hour to prove his fitness.

Glad i dont own high powered weapons if Swan does miss. :P

Jormas

they better lift Martin's ban for Swan's injury, can cope with playing him over the Dane.

T Dog

Can they just lift the Martin ban? I suppose it will just need an explanation and its done... :o

bonebones

of course they won't life Martins ban - ZERO chance of that. But why not have him up there as part of the team. Totally normal.
As for Swanny, where there's smoke there's fire. As a pie supporter I really hope he is there. We just can't afford not having our fully fledged engine running again!

Yeh agreed, Theyd be a laughing stock and could you imagine the media going to town on it if they did lift Dustys ban. No chance of this happening. They are simply showing faith in him and rewarding his efforts since the ban. I have Martin and if ever i needed him its this weekend but it wont happen. :(

Maybe hardwick is nervous going into the GC game they lost last year without foley and martin.. Ablett could get on top early..

Lifting Martins ban, there is like a 5% chance of it happening i think.. But Foley out too would have dimma nervous about the midfield battle.. Ablett could run riot if GC's mids get on top..

A lot of nervous moments for Dimma in the past

1) GC only lost by 3 goal to Geelong
2) Ablett had 11 touches and kicked 2 goals in the last quarter v geelong
3) Foley out for the season
4) GC beat Richmond last year

If Dimma sweats on these 4 things he could easily play him..

Maybe they punished him on the tan to let him off?

Whats more embarrassing, letting martin off and saying he served his punishment on the track, or losing to GC?

Capper

they wont lift MArtin's ban, its all about controlling the environment that Martin is in after the party !!!! incident

Who knows what he would do if he was left in Melbourne whilst the team flew to Cairns.

losing to GC?

^^^This....

I think there is some logic there, i give him 5% to play too

Grazz

You make some very valid points DT Gun but credibility is huge in this game and what kind of message do you send to the other youngens's on the tigers list. I'll concede though, there is probably a 5% chance he'll play wierder things have happened. ???

DT Gun

I dont think he will play, but it wouldnt suprise me if he did either

Mr.Craig

Got him sitting on my mid bench at the moment. Might as well chuck the E on him.

shuester

Although you do make some good points DT Gun, the richmond this year is a very different one from last year. Ivan Maric has become an absolute gun, Deledio has played in the mids more and some can say Cotchin has broken out. Dont think two players will make much of a difference this time around.
