If this was your team, would you trade Buddy?

Blues Blues Blues

Sitting 2nd with 6 trades and $90k.

BACKS: Deledio, H Shaw, Carazzo, Enright, Lake, Dempsey, S Shaw (Goddard, Bootsma)
MIDS: Swan, Ablett, Watson, Jelwood, Thomson, Pendles (Dusty Martin, Gibson)
RUCKS: Maric, Mummy (Campbell, Big O)
FWDS: Sidebottom, Chapman, Dangerfield, Zorko, Porps, Darling, Cameron (Franklin, Hall)

I'm thinking:
- Darling > Goodes (cheapest he will be)
- Franklin > Pavlich (great run home)

Team would be pretty much done and left with 4 trades and $90k, is this enough?

I know the rule never trade a premium, but Franklins time out will be a concern and worried Hawks will be cautious with him. May not come back and smash out the big scores.

Thoughts please, it is doing my head in!

fever

well after sending him out vs the gws i dont think you have to worry about hawthorn being cautious with him.

i would keep him. when finals roll around you'll be the only one without the best scoring fwd in the game. just downgrade porps or hall to a mid mpp and upgrade darling to goodes.

Cameron is suspended I believe.

Hall > McIntyre
Cameron > Goodes

which leaves some cash for Dempsey/Lake upgrade in finals.  Also gives you a really strong bench of Porps & Darling when Franklin returns.

With 6 trades left I would hold onto as many as you can. Darling to Goodes and hold Buddy.

I would still consider this

Hall > McIntyre
Cameron > Goodes

Would give you a mad ass bench and it releases Zorko through McIntyre MPP.  How much cash remaining if you do this?

Leaves me with $112,600 and 4 trades. It is strong bench cover, I hadn't thought of trading Hall and Cameron, I was only thinking Darling/Porps as it gives me more cash, but this still leaves me $ 112k so prob enough given team is nearly done?

He was never suspended. Just got a reprimand that he fought off to keep his Rising Star nomination valid.
But KEEP BUDDY!

Porps or Darling to Goodes is the move I'd be making - whatever you do, keep Buddy without question

charliesheen

The problem with Porps/Darling > Goodes, it means one fwd premium (i.e. Dustin Martin) or Zorko is going to be stuck in the midfield.

Which is why I suggest McIntyre because it releases a fwd.  Cash in bank will also be useful later on if he decides to upgrade Demspey.

Yeah, the plan was always to downgrade to a cheap mid/fwd so I can swap Dusty back to forward line and keep Zorko there. McIntyre is the man, and I have just made the trades. Thanks CharlieSheen, appreciate the help mate. Double cheer for you!

By the way, not happy with thread being shunted to Rate My Supercoach, WTF? We are talking trades here!

How much is in the bank after doing all those trades mate?

$112,600 and 4 trades. Pretty happy with team come next week as Martin and Goddard will be back. Hopefully can resist trade temptation and hold onto trades for later!

What areas do you think need work? Lake and Dempsey are 'suspect', both scored well on weekend but not sure on whether they can keep it up? I really would Pav, and thinking maybe Porps to Pav next week, but that may be a luxury trade and I should hold firm??!

charliesheen

Ya probably back line.  Only matter of time before Dempsey gets injured anyway, but leave the trade late in finals.

I don't think you gain much from upgrading Porps/Darling, good bench coverage save donuts in future.  Zorko is basically premium.
