in career best goal kicking form for his career IMO

because he is now getting less of the ball than he used to around the ground but i haven't seen Pavlich dominate opponents all over the ground and in goal kicking as well as the last month of the season

2008 IMO was the last time he consistently getting large bags of goals (5 or more in a staggering 7 games) and although today was only our second win since round 7

he has got 23 goals in the last 5 games which is his best return over a 5 game span (with 3 or more goals) since Rounds 3 - 7 in 2010 when we last made the finals

Its funny how when you play someone in a position that they should play - they perform.

Freo supporters have been saying for years that Pav needs to be CHF.  The proof is in the pudding

Cicjose

the only problem  ::) (a very minor one at that) i have is that he is not having as many scoring shots on goal

as he was when we were making finals

for every season he has kicked more than 50 goals

2005 just under 4 scoring shots per game

2006 just over 4 scoring shots per game

2007 nearly 6 scoring shots per game (average 5.5)

2008 just over 4 scoring shots per game

2010 just under 4 scoring shots per game (average 3.5)

this year he is averaging 3.5 scoring shots per game

is it any wonder that his best years in front of the sticks have got us to the finals?

A star, always has been, always will be.

One of my favourite non-Collingwood players.

Cicjose

Matthew Pavlich has been on fire since Round 12

He leads the competition for average scoreboard pressure since Round 12 (38 points per game) ahead of Buddy Franklin (33 points).

Capper

I have had him all year. Keep going Pav

TBH Cic, that's a fairly ordinary thing to do to the others in your leagues. No fun playing dead teams

Cicjose

another 7 goals today good effort against kids

4 goals in the 1st quarter destroyed the souls of GWS in the 1st half.  Just between me and EVERYONE - I am loving Pav at FF/CHF.... but I think I have said that before ;)

Cicjose

was secretly hoping for a career best haul  :P but the win with percentage is what we needed and we did that today  ;D

He already owns just about every record at Fremantle and this year overtook Peter Sumich as the greatest goal kicker to represent a WA-based AFL club.

On Saturday, the Matthew Pavlich milestone tour will pay another visit to Patersons Stadium when the skipper joins West Coast legend Glen Jakovich on 276 games as the most by a Freo Docker or Eagle.

Pavlich is due to break the record a week later when Freo plays North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.

It’s another magnificent achievement by a man who is steamrolling towards an incredible seventh Doig Medal and All-Australian jumper, and is leading the race to win the 2012 Coleman Medal with just three rounds to go.

Congratulations Matthew Pavlich, the greatest player in the history of the Fremantle Football Club who now walks among the greatest players to have ever represented this state in the national competition.
