FREMANTLE midfielder Hayden Crozier is being treated for a bout of suspected glandular fever and may miss the rest of the season if the condition is confirmed.

The No.20 selection in the 2011 NAB AFL Draft was omitted from last Saturday's clash with Collingwood with illness, and fremantlefc.com.au revealed on Monday night the seriousness of the illness.

The club is expected to confirm the 18-year-old's final test results on Tuesday.

Glandular fever is a viral infection that leads to fever, a sore throat and swollen lymph nodes. There is no known cure, with patients encouraged to rest. It can last for months and up to a year.

West Coast midfielder Luke Shuey was sidelined with the condition for two months in 2010.

Crozier made his debut in round 10 against the Crows and has played three senior matches, collecting 16 touches against Richmond in his second outing.

Meanwhile, Zac Dawson and Stephen Hill both trained strongly on Monday and coach Ross Lyon said he was confident the key pair would return against the Western Bulldogs at Patersons Stadium on Sunday.
