Hey all,

After lock out, I discovered the devastating news that I am 5k off going Ellis to Carrazzo. This leaves me in a dilemma as I am low on trades but my defence is shower. In order to maximise cash I am considering trading Hall to Couch even though Couch will not play this year. This also leaves me enough cash for my final upgrade in a few weeks and 2 trades for LTI's. Considering I have Treloar in the midfield, it means that Couch should never be costing me a donut as I have decent cover in the midfield and Couch is a DPP.

So, should I trade Hall to Couch in order to bring in Carrazzo for Ellis? Is there a better DPP option than Couch?

Cheers

DEF: B. Deledio, B. Goddard, H. Scotland, B. Waters, M. Suckling, B. Ellis, S. Darley (S. Shaw, L. Spurr)

RUC: I. Maric, T. Goldstein (O. Stephenson, T. Campbell)

$131 100 and 5 trades in the bank

I say downgrade to someone who's actually playing mate. No guarantee Couch is going to play so why would you trade him in? Go Hall to Murdoch (if named) and trade in Carrazzo for Ellis (if Darley is named, otherwise trade Darley).

Couch won't play at all however it is his DPP eligibility which is the reason i am considering him. Murdoch is an option

Yeah good point but I think you're right with Treloar/Gibson in the mids and Smith in the fwd line. Hopefully Murdoch can play the season out as well after his 8-tackle effort first up.

I reckon it's fine to trade in Couch here. You would only cop a donut if you needed to be playing if you had injuries to 2 fwds and 2 mids. Murdoch would be required if only 2 of the fwds were out and even if he was playing and able to cover at that point wouldn't you prefer to play Treloar or Smith over him? I suppose it could be handy if the GWS boys start to get left out of the side due to that 14 game crap that Sheedy was apparently talking about earlier in the season. Still tho you would want to be reasonably confident of Murdoch's JS before bringing him in

Murdoch on the primary list, will always have a chance of playing.

Couch on the rookie list, has not chance of playing.

Surely you get in Murdoch?  ???

I know this sounds hypocritical saying that I am worried about Murdoch's job security, considering Couch has none, but I would rather have a non playing dpp 85k bloke than Murdoch. I need to maximize money from this trade and as was seen when trying to go from Ellis to Carazzo sometimes the difference between an 85k and 98k player can be extremely important.

I understand your position, but one price rise in Murdoch covers this... What about Sam Kerridge if you have to have a DPP? He is $98000 but better chance of playing than Couch.

Surely to make that backline better, you have to get Birch.

Not sure why anyone would get Suckling over him   ::)

Andrew

Just downgrade Stephenson? Then again Couch's dual position could be handy for you if you wanted to downgrade Smith or Treloar down the track.

I think if you were to take the risk of going Hall to Couch and banking the extra cash you should upgrade Spurr and have Ellis as your B8 as he would be better coverage and will play most weeks. Did the sums and you'll have 54k left

Cheers for doing the sums and I have thought of this but I would like to use the cash to upgrade again in a few weeks to my final defender so i think ellis should go
