The Heat are trading Moultrie away for pick 45..... to Philadelphia and a future first round pick

Interesting.  Will be good for 76ers and then Heat can get min salary player at 45

and the first round picks are guaranteed contracts

Miami has so much money at the big 3 they can pay the minimum salary for whoever they get at the 45 pick hence the trade of their first pick

valkorum

It makes sense for Miami if they want to get Ray Allen - dont have to guarantee a contract and use cap space.

Kings pick Orlanda Johnson at 336 but word is we shipped the pick to the Pacers and that was their choice.  Not sure what we getting in return just yet - Pacers dont have another pick in the draft

Edit: Knowing the Maloofs it was prob for cash concessions

With the No. 27 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, the Miami Heat selected Arnett Moultrie from Mississippi State. The Heat will reportedly send him to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Moultrie is an active, athletic big man who has some skills but doesn't figure to be a great defender, rebounder or bruiser at the NBA level. The Sixers will reportedly send Miami a future first-round pick and the No. 45 in this draft to take Moultrie.

according to Wikipedia we got Justin Hamilton! (Miami's Pick 27 to Philadelphia for Philadelphia's Pick 45)

Hamilton finished 14th in the Southeastern Conference in scoring, ninth in rebounding, eighth in free throw percentage (78.1 percent, 107-137); ninth in blocked shots (1.3 bpg); and, second in offensive rebounds (3.3 orpg).

i reckon Miami have got themselves a worthwhile investment long term IMO

The Kings need players
The Maloofs need cash

Very big difference

Cicjose

okay sorry but your owners are really bad business people if the business is going to perform badly again then what? will they sell in a panic and make a loss?

(for the sake of the game it would be good to get rid of the Kings owners but still have worthwhile basketball people wanting to buy the Kings)

valkorum

The Maloofs are terrible for the Kings.  There has been interest from someone based in Asia somewhere but the Maloofs wont sell.  They pay the min salary cap every year and then wonder why we are a lottery team.

I think all the supporters of the Kings would rejoice if the Maloofs sold up and we got new owners.  Mark Cuban would be a good owner ;)
