GREATER Western Sydney's Taylor Adams will miss Saturday night's derby against the Sydney Swans with a club-imposed suspension.

Adams was handed one match, in addition to a one-match suspended sentence, and fined a maximum $3477 for his involvement in a nightclub scuffle earlier this year.

Adams, 18, faced the Geelong Magistrates Court this week. He accepted responsibility for recklessly causing injury and being part of an affray but no conviction was recorded and two assault charges were dropped.

The incident took place outside a Geelong nightclub in January.

Adams was snaffled by the Giants with pick No. 13 in last year's draft and his form since debuting has been among the most promising at the baby club.

The Geelong Falcons graduate boasts deadly foot skills with a strong goal sense and has scored under 60 SuperCoach points just once this year.

He debuted in Round 5 against the Western Bulldogs and has not missed a match since.

The fine was derived as a percentage of his base playing wage, meaning it falls under the standard $5000 sanction most players are slapped with.

Adams was one of the hottest properties at last year's draft table with a number of clubs eager to swoop in the first round if the Giants overlooked him with their early monopoly of picks.

Meh. We always knew this was coming and i was fearing a more heavy sanction, its good he wasn;t charged. Don;t need him on the field and he has more money to mkae coming off a 93, so the week off will hopefully freshen him up and he will be back next week ready to pump out 80+.

Hmm.  This now means I have to play either Gibson or Sexton.  Currently have Zorko in the mids, but could swing him in to the forward line and play Gibson or I could just swap Sexton, who is a forward EMG, with Adams.  Which is better, Gibbo or Sexy?

As I read somewhere else, its not a trip to Geelong unless you get in a fist fight at 3am...

It's your lucky day.

Adams can be covered for a week, what concerns me more are the possible ramifications for Scotland regarding the assault charges he's facing

Combined with Pendlebury being out for another week or so, I'll need to play either Gibson or Hampton. I'm not keen on either.

Yeah that is a little worrying

PlotsnPlans

Adams was meant to be the emergency, while Gibson was the downgrade to stay on the bench for the rest of the season. Seemed like a good plan when Pendlebury was only missing 2-3 games.
