Memphistopheles

I have come from 3,359 before the bye rounds to 638 after them.

However, have quite an unique team so will need those players to fire to move up further - Birchall, Enright, Broughton, Barlow, Priddis etc.

AS for the number 1 - he is doing well because his gambles have paid off.

Justin Bieber

If you are not in the top 200 at the moment, there is ZERO chance of making up that 800 points you are behind the leader by.

The Silent Partner

I'm ranked 682 and 1100 points off the pace I have pretty much given up on the car with most sides pretty much set I dont see too much movement unless you have a handy amount of trades and some class on the bench, some unique picks that fire, few ballsy captain choices and dodge the injury/resting of players. If your within say 500 points of the leader I'd still be giving it a crack 50 points per round is achievable. You need to find that unique diamond in the rough to make that up, with so many sides starting to look pretty similar.

Jukes

I'm ranked like 2500-odd and am looking purely at league; and am looking pretty good considering I'm top of two and top 4 in another 2.

His team looks a bit dodgy. But he is number one, so cannot really scrutinize that much.  :P

Yeah, we can. His team is shower. My team is out past 4000th but it's way better than his. Worst player I have on the ground is Giles.

If he can get 1100 points up on you in 11 weeks, you can easily peg them back in that time..

I bet the winner will come from about 7-800 points behind but have upgraded their team perfectly to now..

Of course their will be duds up the top now, they took cheap points while the byes were on..

Think about this..

for example, Someone brought in whitecross averaging 90 instead of waiting for chappy who averages 105

that one decision will cost them 150 points alone in the final 10 weeks..

15ppg x 10 games

people stuck with giles will lose 30ppg to maric

30ppg x 10 games = 300 points..

There is 450 points right there from 2 players

It can be done

zeddyzed

It can be done, but not easily, you'll find lots of the top teams have jeopardized their whole team for the sake of the byes. I sacrificed the bye rounds and focused on team integrity, yet it has cost me lots of points. Round 7 i was ranked 49th overall, now im 2000 odd. BUT, my team is finished as of this week, and i dont have any of these "almost premos" like whitecross etc, bought the best in every line, and i feel like it can easily get me back into the top 100. I think DT Gun has nailed it though, very hard to win the car from a 1000 points behind.

I disagree, you can't make comparisons from last season, or the season before that. The way the byes are played this year makes it unique and therefore possible. The team that is coming first now may only have a couple of trades for all we know, I would not be surprised if he finishes somewhere out of the top 5K with that team...

A Lot of people made sacrifices to the quality of their team in the long run for the bye rounds. This will start to show soon. Choices like Barlow & Priddis in the mids, not having Swan & Ablett & Boyd. Its all very well having premiums on all lines, but you need the best premiums on all lines to win this thing from here and be lucky with Injuries and Resting.

Like Its Me Lads, My focus is always on my cash league, because I'm more likely to win that. If I thought i was a shot at the car i'd play differently, but i'm not.

Well not having Chapman has helped him.  And he has pretty good bench coverage as well.

Backline looks weak though, but aren't all backlines this year?

DT Gun

no..

by now you should have only 1 rookie if not a full backline of premos
