Pendles to Watson this week, then bring in Pendles when he's dropped

Deinately looked at both Stanton and Thompson but set on Watson and prepared to wait. So many good options at that price range, but i really think Watson will be the best.

I wouldn't be doing the Pendles > Watson trade, it really is a waste of a trade.

What was your downgrade option you were thinking (that fell 3k short or Mcdonald to Watson) Maybe you can squeeze some extra cash on another option elsewhere

I was toying with the idea of Hall, subbed for sexton then to Morabito (if he is named), there was talk his JS was really high. Then McDonald to Watson which is around 3k short. Either way if he is named was looking at Patton who is same price range. I know im paying more but i want that security of cover and willing to spend the cash for it. This is for league rather than overall.

stanton & tommo for ceiling. watson for consistency

Forget stanton now as he aint in top nick due to everyone tagging him. Jump on watson/thommo.

There's not a whole lot of downgrade options. Maybe look at squeezing a few extra $$$ out of the downgrade Crozier maybe an option

Ultimately, the best time to trade was the very first week. But we weren't to know how many weeks he would be out really.

Watson is the best choice, but it's a waste to trade him when you kept him for 3 weeks. Doesn't make any sense to trade him out now IMO.  ;)

How did you come to that conclusion? Stanton may have had a couple of below par but nothing that should turn you off picking him. I hardly saw Stanton last weekend and he finished with 115 think about what he willbe doing when he is seen again.

Yeah, from where I'm sitting Watson is the first tagged anyway. Essendon have some easy fixtures with some tough ones but I think Stanton has to be strongly considered for a final mid upgrade if you already have Ablett, Swan, and Boyd...

The last 4 rounds of the season need to be considered here and Stanton looks the goods... 3 big scores earlier in the season V. Nth Melbourne, Carlton, Richmond. Unfortunately he had a poor score V. Collingwood.

At least ill have an extra week to procrastinate over it  ;)

Thanks to those that voted and commented. Pretty sure i got everyone.

I wouldn't do that trade now. Rd 11 was the time to do it, and he is almost back so not worth it IMO

But look at the people who knee-jerked and dumped Gary Ablett and then Dane Swan - was all good for 2-3 weeks but when GAJ and Swanny came back they totally carved up. Those poor coaches who dumped them were left scrambling and trying to find ways to get them back.

I can guarantee when Pendles returns the same thing will happen

And for the record, I traded GAJ in the week before he got injured but kept him. Worked wonders for me (186 :D )
Swan I traded in the week he returned and was repaid with a 300 that week (as captain)
Pendles I've had all year and have held so far, Zorko's the perfect cover :D

Don't trade Pendles... You already decided to keep him, so stick with it! Plus he's almost back...

And that trade is a waste. It actually sounds good in your head, but then when you do the maths, you find out you waste a trade!! Rather then Jmac to Watson, you're doing Pendles to watson then Jmac to Pendles, therefore going in circles. Just wait a week if you can't do it this week. Jmac should go up and Watson will be same or maybe drop a bit.

Dave085

Yeah Im just going to wait i reckon.

Either way i do it its going to be 2 trades...
The McDonald to Watson trade is a double trade, ill be downgrading Hall in the forward line to make up the cash i need, but am about $3k short.

The reasoning behind it was to keep the bench cover as there isnt a lot of replacements coming through. If Hall plays this week and McDonald reaches his break even i will achieve the trade.

The Pendles trade will guarantee that i can keep both Watson and Pendles in my team. The other way relies on the rookie hitting his BE and Watson not hitting it.

I was one of the ones that traded Ablett when he got injured, but i made sure i had a way to get him back in which worked a treat earlier on.

Don't forget the Carlton game was when carrazo got injured so he was playing without an opponent for most of the match

Dont do the first trade. Like others have said it really is kinda a waste. I however would be looking at ways to make cash and bring in Scotty Thompson. Crows are travelling pretty average at the moment and are gonna be keen to turn things around so watch out for some big games from scotty especially with the easy draw too. In saying that i also have Watson myself, had him from the start, but you get so paranoid every single week knowing that the tagger will be going to him straight. however week to week he doesn't disappoint :)
