Jeelwood has to be one of the most consistent players in DT, with a respectable average of 103 its ok but not great.

However, looking further into his stats he has only twice scored under 100, With both these being a 69 & 62 where he was heavily concussed and spent heaps of time on the sidelines. taking those concussions out and he has scored all 100's this year 9 in think, with a average of 113, making him have like the 5th highest average currently.

These are just handy stats considering how consistent he is i think, priced at only $450 IMO its an absolute steal, because taking those 2 games out and he would surely be over the 500 mark.

So people looking for upgrade options Selwood IMO would be a great pick, btw i have had selwood since the start.

Tom_16

had him since the start as well, has been solid all year long and i have a feeling he is due for his yearly massive score of 160+ which usually occurs around round 16-17 each year.

Same have had Selwood since the start, has been solid but not exactly gunning it. Hated those 60's.... Stupid Raines....
These are the guys you just want in your team, one that you can rely on week in week out to get a solid score.

I'd prefer him to say Stanton, who has the highest average but he is too up and down, only good when he gets those monsters. If you pick him the right days, you will have a massive captain score, but otherwise you will have like a 150-200 score.

Stants doesn't have the highest average, swan and gaj both average higher than him. Having said that stants started the year off very well but has come back down to earth over the last month.

for his 1 score under 80 , marty clarke tagged the living crap out of him.
I have had selwood from day 1 also. But saying that stanton is too up and down is a bit far fetched. the thing that makes people say stanton is inconsistent is that he hits such big points when he scores well. his bad weeks arent all that bad when comparing him to other premos this year. Out of 12 games he has only gone under 100 three times, all of which he was heavily tagged.
Dont get me wrong though, i love joely selwood :)

Brought him in a month ago at $490k thinking it was a steal. Has performed well, and I'm happy with the trade, but wish I'd held out. At $450k - Get on it!

Possumo

Can afford to go Hayes to Selwood and Hargrave to Carazzo if I downgrade Stephenson to Campbell... tempting but leaves me with 4 trades and stuck with Giles which could be risky... thinking it might be better to just get Carazzo and keep Hayes as my mid 6. Would definitely love to have Selwood though! Would say he is the best value pick in the mids along with Mitchell (who I have too).

+1 i did the exact same! thinking he was a bargain back then.

all aboard the selwood train!

Ricochet

had him from the start and has been super reliable

My current midfield is swan, pendles, ablett, watson, mitchell, beams (Jmac, Gibson)
Looking to move beams into fwd line and upgrade hall to a mid premo. I was thinking Boyd in a couple of weeks, but after this thread, it's got me thinking maybe Selwood is a better option.

Thoughts?

gotta go Boyd over Selwood any day of the week. Boyd is a champion in DT. one bad week, he will score 130 this week

Proudy1032

Sorry to change the subject but seriously, Tom Rockliff? He is looking like Stanton minus the world record! He either scores quite big or he gets like 60s and 70s, thought I would just point out that similarity  ::)

Ash A

when has stanton ever got 60s and 70s this year
his lowest score 79 he got tagged like crazy by clarke and his other scores under 100 (3) have all been 90s
thats a very solid dt effort

Yeah I have to agree with this
I have both Jelwood and Boyd but if I was looking to upgrade now I'd bring Boyd in over Jelwood.
