hey guys! as most people like i'am are maybe going to suffer a fair few doughnuts this week as i havent planned for the byes but still have a 3 upgrades to complete my team and am wondering if i should act now, or let the youngens keep fattening up. Below is my team and trade options i have been considering.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

As you can see i have $359,600 and 7 trades remaining. Im wanting to make 3 final upgrades and have 4 emergency trades (YES I KNOW THATS TIGHT) Iam 1st in all my leagues and obviously too far out for overall at 3,524.

THE OPTIONS!

(do i move them now? )
Ellis > either thinking wait 2 weeks and pick up carazzo for him OR trade now and avoid a donut for hurn/johnson/broughton?

IF i make the trade and axe ellis now, either shaw or darley should fatten up and turn into carazzo in 2 weeks time after his bye and price drop..... GOOD MOVE?

Shiel> low b/e once again, and could be turned into watson/swan/boyd right now WITHOUT making the ellis trade.

milera? i think im stuck with him now, as it would be a massive burn of a trade just to make money off him now wouldnt it?

BASICALLY shiel plays this week, should i keep him and make more money or axe him complete my mids and focus on saving cash for my final 2 defender upgrades?

switch zorko to forwards and trade walker to a premium mid. I see zorko as a F7 Keeper but not an M6 keeper- therefore, you will have a finalised midfield and forward line from just one trade.

Then trade shiel for gibson and ellis for a rd 11 or 12 bye premium id suggest one of heppell/broughton/adcock and then in two weeks time trade darley for a bottomed out carrazzo. This will require 4 trades. Hope this helped Good Luck!!!

actually sorry just noticed that you had 359K in the bank which means you may not require the shiel>gibson trade which means u will still have one left with a really soild full team

thanks for the advice dude! :) i only picked up walker last week as a bit of a unique POD to finalise my forward line, i currently have zorko up there just because he averages better than shiel. Come game day he will be in my forward line, its almost a problem now that iam overloaded at the forward position. At the moment when the byes are done with until shiel fattens up i feel zorko will be taking his m6 position until i pick up swan/boyd/watson. It is sort of a bind ive got myself in but i cant really afford to blow the walker trade up. Would you recommend trading milera to anyone in the fwds to make money? or am i stuck with what i have right now if i choose to just suck it up :/

thanks again dude :)

jabroni

crows have a good fixture run till end of season so i would swap dusty with zorko since hes avg 10 pts less than walker

then shiel to gibson and dusty to swan or watson or josh kennedy

u still have some $$ (440k ish) for last trade so ellis to m johnson or waters and in 2 weeks you may have enough cash to go darley/shaw to carrots if they keep playing

SOLID advice dude :) never thought of giving dusty the axe, ive sadly had him since the start of the year. I hope he doesnt just turn it on after i possibly give him the chop :/

jabroni

ive had him from the start too and if i didnt start with fyfe, goodes, mumford, then sandi, shaw then carrots i would have the trades to get him out but sadly i dont :(

i feel your pain, weirdly this year i havent been too damaged with injuries and maric has passed all my expectations. Just feel a little uneasy relying on zorko to produce week in week out, even though he has been doing it, i just have a weird feeling.
Just another thought, is 5 collingwood players too much if i pick up swan this week will be pendles, swan, beams, sidey, shaw or do you think it will be worth it especially over watson or kennedy (even though swan is more expensive?)

stonay

SOOOOO i went.....

martin> swan
shiel>gibson
ellis> waters

with 4 trades and $167,300

giving shaw and/or darley 2-3 weeks to get to around 300k (if possible) to CARROTS

WORST CASE SCENARIO downgrade milera to make 180-200k, cut my trades to 2 and have CARROTS as d7, good enough final team with 2 emergency trades???

Ellis will continue to make money with a break-even of 25 so keep him for now, Carrats, Heppell, Fisher, Enright. Are all premiums on the down who you can look at in coming weeks.  Even Yarran if he starts hitting some form

Use the new trading system to trade Milera to Scott Thompson by moving Zorko to the forward line, Gives you great coverage in mids with Shiel and Zorko to give you a great bench forward. Thommo's breakeven is now in within reach and could crack it against Kangaroos next week.

Trading ideas
Milera - Scott Thompson
Darley/Shaw - Yarran (After round 13)
Ellis - Carrazzo (After round 14-15)

If Yarran starts to hit some good form he will be a great pick up and could be good bench coverage if his roller coaster season continues.

thanks for the advice :) never thought of using the trading system like that! my only concern with thompson is come finals time in supercoach, he may be rested for actual AFL finals. But i guess swan is at the same risk as well. great theory on back bench cover also! i'd like to see some consistent yarran form before i chucked a few hundred thousand at him for my bench.
TOUGH DECISIONS haha  :)

I would think Adelaide would have some decency to not rest their captain. That may be because i too have Thommo in my mids :P

Just how low can Yarran go? breakeven of 89 and that all of a sudden seems out of Yarran's reach. Down on his last years average by a whopping 33 points. Hopefully after his bye he can find some magic and get back to pumping out them 80-100 scores on a weekly basis.

very true, its super wishful thinking that he will drop lower haha, i just dont know if i could trust him enough to get him involved in my team haha, and its a line ball with the teams at the end of the year and who they rest, if anything you would think they would just vest the players that they feel they want to rest by lowering their game day work load

thanks dude :) good honest feedback currently i have my team standing like this, probably wont change, just see waters as the best non bye player this week and even though its super tight if i do bring in carrots thats a solid 7 def prems with 3 trades left and if i want to win or try and crack the top 1000 (wishful thinking) i think ill need him! :)
