After these byes are finished, anyone considering playing this guy in front of under-performing premos. If he continues his form and Rocky continues to be a dud I'll probably seriously consider playing him as M6 and chuck Rocky on the bench. It would sound bad and look back but the fact of the matter is this guy is performing brilliantly and Rocky is spudding it up.

I think the point is more that having a $450k or so player on the bench is a massive waste of money. Sam Gibson is $85k and can warm your bench just as effectively as Rockliff. If you have a $400k-plus player who you don't want in your starting 22 any more, trade them out, plain and simple. Putting them on the bench is extremely wasteful.

I got Zorko when he was on the bubble and it is looking like the best trade I have made all season, but I would be wary of trading him in now. First year players do generally hit the wall at some point and that should be especially obvious this season, just look at Horsley (and to a lesser extent, Bugg, Magner, Treloar and D. Smith). Zorko will be around $300k after this game, and that is a lot to pay for a guy with only 4 games of proven performance.
