swan cant be captain this week so if you take that 50-80ish more for captain and subtract it from boyd being captain this week boyd actually 40-70 better off.

also have to factor in that you will probably have Swan as captain most weeks
difference between the two averages was 5ish
so it could really be a difference for 10 per week.

Yep did mention the captaincy, really think you need Swan and Ablett (teams just don't look right)

True Owen but that a case if he doesn't choose a captain this week, Ablett's a good option this week will bounce back big I'm thinking.

Im not saying dont get Swan. Im saying get him when the time is right. The times right to get boyd now. The numbers are there and they dont lie. Already has ablett and when he hits form again you are going to stick the C on him a fair bit. Swans draw is a tough one, id personally do the barlow to swan in r14-15 and get boyd in this week.

I have them both already but if I had to bring one of them in to finalise my midfield it would have to be swanny

thanme

I'd personally take Swanny first, unless you give a shower about this round. Boyd is good, but he isn't Swan good.

you saw what Swan did last week after 2 games off, I have both but I'd get Swan in no matter what

Bennyy

Both can rack them up, but I think a midfield needs Swan. Ideally Swan, Pendles and Ablett, but definitely at least 1. Racks em up no matter who he plays. Another week off he should be fresh and raring to go!

See, I'd chuck Boyd into that echelon of players. Pure consistency, he is.

HBTD22

I'd go Boyd for the above mentioned reasons AND for the fact that hes more unique than Swan.

If you want a more unqiue player go boyd. However I prefer Swan as he can pump out 140+ scores more than boyd which are very handy especially when he's captain. But you would be within your rights to choose either, each have their advantages and you can;t really go wrong.

+1 This is spot on. DT is all about trading in at the right time, and the right time for Boyd is now. Swan is amazing, but Boyd is really not that far behind, and the extra week is enough of a difference. This is of course assuming you have the trades to trade Barlow (or an injured premo) up to Swan later.
