JUKESY'S CAPTAINS ROUND 12

Jukes

After a horrific week of scoring in round 11, we are hopefully going to be back up and running this week. Ablett screwed us all over royally with his 61- but don’t be too worried, over half of all dream teamers shared your pain with him as captain. I scored a 1410 but most importantly won 4 of my leagues.

We have a partial lockout in place this week so we can lock in Eagles/Blues as our vice captains and use our inevitable donuts as captain in case out vices smash it. Just remember- you cannot reverse trades made pre-partial lockout after the eagles-blues game is locked.

Many of our usual captain options are out this week with the bye, such as Brent Stanton, Jobe Watson, Dane Swan, Dayne Beams, Steele Sidebottom, Joel Selwood, Scott Pendlebury, Steve Johnson and Paul Chapman however I have identified 7 captain options and 2 vice captain options.

Matthew Boyd
After the week off, Boyd and his bulldogs host Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium, where he has a 162 and 146 at this season so far. Matty has a 123, 133 and 104 in his last 3 against the Power, who have won 3 of their last 4. Expect Matt to do what he normally does, put out a solid score in a true captains performance.
Assistant Coach Projection: 127
Jukesy’s Prediction: 135

Gary Ablett
Many said never again to Sidebottom captain last week after his 68 as their captain. He came out with a 150 this week. Can Gary do the same? Gary and friends (something my mate called Gold Coast a few days ago and I’ve picked it up) host North Melbourne, who let Buddy score 204 against a fortnight ago, at Metricon. Last time out against North he hit a 146 also at Metricon, and a 148 tucked into his last three as well. Expect him to be back to his best this week after that horrific performance last week; but the question is asked, can Gary deal with a very hard tag like Clint Jones placed on him last week?
Assistant Coach Projection: 115
Jukesy’s Prediction: 135

Ivan Maric
After getting him into my team this week for the injured Aaron Sandilands, Maric appears to be working his way toward a true captain option and premium. His last seven scores have all been above 96 including three over 120. He will come up against many of our second ruckmen in Jonathon Giles at Skoda.
Assistant Coach Projection: 112 (his last 5 average as he has never played GWS)
Jukesy’s Prediction: 120

Brett Deledio
Another Richmond boy on his way to play the youngsters in the west of Sydney, Lids should continue his fine form (excluding his last two weeks) from this season.  He could go big, very big this week.
Assistant Coach Projection: 117 (again, his last 5 average)
Jukesy’s Prediction: 130

Lance Franklin
The ever inconsistent Buddy is now looming as a captain choice, with scores of 105, 114, 81 97, 204 and 99 quite good in his last 6. This week he takes on Brisbane- who is not the best at preventing huge DT scores on them (e.g. Stant’s 193). Buddy has a 109 and 127 among his last three against the lions, countered by an injury-affected 32. He plays at his favourite ground the MCG and should hopefully smash it.
Assistant Coach Projection: 119
Jukesy’s Prediction: 130

Sam Mitchell
Like Buddy, Sam Mitchell takes on Brisbane. Brisbane is one of those teams in the perfect position; not very good, but still respected so team try hard against them. 119, 105 and 132 are his last three matches against Brisbane, who he has the fourth highest average against of all teams.
Assistant Coach Projection: 104
Jukesy’s Prediction: 115

Scott Thompson
After four consecutive 120+ scores, Thommo scored very poorly before his bye. Fortunately, he was given the week off to think about his actions. A normally solid captain option, he may be given the Clint Jones tag that kept Ablett to 61. His AAMI form is very good with two 138s and an 84, while his Saints average is just what it is. Average. A return to form however looms this round, if Jones spends a bit of time on other guys like NVB and Dangerfield.
Assistant Coach Projection: 108
Jukesy’s Prediction: 120

VICE CAPTAIN OPTIONS
Dean Cox
As the most selected player from tomorrow night’s game, Coxy will be a popular choice for vice captain. He has not scored a 100 in his last three against the Blues, with a highest score of 123. I cannot see a massive score for him this week, but you may as well chuck him VS anyway, just in case.
Assistant Coach Projection: 91
Jukesy’s Prediction: 100

Mitch Robinson
After a poultry 70 last week, Robbo appears to be the only other potential popular vice captain option, and who I will be going with as he’s the only player I have playing tomorrow. His last two against the eagles have been a 105 and 65, for an average of an ordinary 85, his form against the other West Australian team being only a few points better. Again, he probably won’t score that well, but you might as well chuck him as your VC just in case.
Assistant Coach Projection: 88
Jukesy’s Prediction: 90

If you have them, you might as well take the risk by putting Priddis, Simpson or Selwood as your vice captain.

Hopefully CJ goes to Sloane and Thommo can get his wiener out and go bezerk

Yeah Gary just had a rare rubbish week

Ricochet

great work Jukesy
with Cox and Priddis being my only Eagles/Carlton players, i might pop the VC on priddis

Jukes

Cheers guys.

I only watched a bit of the GC-STK game and most of the time I saw Jones on GAJ, my mistake.

He still got tagged out by the Saints team, which may happen to Thommo.

Windigo

Kade as VC & if that fails, might go Buddy.

Not sure if you watched the game, but Steven barely even did a defensive role. It was more head to head and Steven also played up forward a lot.

Anyways nice work Juke.s

Is it just me or I have all players up for Captain Selection this week?

Chelskiman

Might gamble on Robbo as VC.  Can't see much coming from it, but you never know.  If that fails then either Boyd or Lids.

It's not really a gamble going with a WCE/Carlton player as vice, as long as your captain plays.

BlueWombat

Liam, let's be fair dinkum you don't know how to pick captains for DT. The clear choice is K Hunt, I know his break-even is 50, but I know he's in for a big 100+ game

Nah bro if you'r going risky you might as well put Raph Clarke as your captain like Damo.

Cayenne

I'm doing something drastic to attempt to make up ground after my last two weeks of the captaincy curse (ablett and pendles).

Broadbent captain: 120+ if the power get up.

Jukes

Yeah after those last two weeks of gaj and sidey unique options are becoming more and more common.
