Just reported on Fox sports they will both play.

Apparently Carrots was even close to having a run in the VFL last week

I just wanted to say F U Carlton and your pathetic reporting of injuries. Scotland was out for 3 weeks or more 5 days ago, Carrots still weeks away. Now they're playing! J Waite gets listed as a test on the tuesday a couple of weeks ago then the next day you say he's a definate not to play and your not really sure what's happening with his back or when he'll be back. Combine that with Karl Langdon saying on local radio he knows for a fact Waite is miles of playing on the monday night before the lists are announced but they don't use the official channels to report it!

Surely there has to be some fines coming there way, some sort of encouragement for accurate reporting.

The AFL takes sponsorship money from betting agencys, don't even allow the boot pollisher to have a $5 bet for fear of the integrity of the game yet they let clubs blatantly lie about injuries. If this was say Peter Moody saying Black Caviar wont run in England because she's got a tendon injury only for her to front up there'd be he'll to pay. The AFL has embraced betting and we've all embraced fantasy sports, we need to be looked after!

they havent played yet and its really hard to tell how long an injured player will be out for look at Pendles he is anywhere from 2-6 weeks. In fairness I thought carrots was going to be back by round 13 so he is a weeek early if he does play and if scotland had a fast recovery than that should be good news. Unlucky if you traded him out but I dont see why a club would say a player is injured for a long time if they expect them back soon.

What does annoy me though is when a player gets injured on the wednesday get named and than are a late withdrawal during the weekend.

It would be a huge advantage if the eagles have done their preparation assuming Scotland is not playing then he rocks up on the day.

I'm with salver I think there should be penalties if its obvious they are exaggerating

fertalong

Agreed. Fair enough if it is a minor niggle and the club names them hoping they will recover for the game, then they miss a week, but if someone is going to be out for an extended time frame like zaha was and mcevoy earlier in the year, the club should disclose this information before final teams or risk getting fined.

I just think that it lacks professsionalism. With carlton it goes both ways, guys back before they say then guys listed as test when they know they're weeks away.

I'd like to see each clubs doctor do a short video clip on the injury list and where they're at to start each week. At least that way if someone has a 3 weeks injury but they think it could react well to treatment they could say it. It wouldn't have to be long, some clubs could be as short as 20 seconds if there's no much on the injury front. Just to get a better idea of where guys are at and how they are tracking rathere than: Shoulder: 2 weeks. I honeslty think it's something AFL.com could look inot. We get these clips each week of the coaches not really saying anything useful or that we don't already know, how about some real info.

Probably too late for me to get Carrazzo.  :-\

stop your sooking about it! Did you trade out scotland? sucked in!

Its hard to diagnose an injury! What do you think they see a grade 1 tear and go, yep thats it exactly 3 days 65 minutes and 30 seconds and it should be fully healed?

Your a joke and a sook!

Everyones body heals at different speeds, so it is almost impossible to predict when the player will be right!

At most the injury list is an educated GUESS at best.

So you spend 5 years studyng to make educated guesses? I make educated guesses on my footy tips, didn't have to go to uni for that! Doctors and physios out there are getting paid 200 000 plus a year to make educated guesses?  I have no problems with them being wrong every now and then because yes everyone recovers differently but there is obviously a big difference between 1 week and 3 plus or being listed as a chance to play one day then saying you have no idea when he's going to play a day latter when nothing at all has changed.

I'm a joke and a sook Your an idiot if you don't think they could report things more accurately.

salver11

Sorry my bad. I forgot that I was dealing with a website full of people who get on the chat and write such productive things as  "LIFT SCOTLAND!" 2 minutes into every game. I will try to keep to that intelect from now on.

Football Factory

Sorry, but i agree with DT Gun. Maybe he went a bit overboard with what he said but he is on the right track. Judging an injury is difficult so you can't blame carlton if Scotland has recovered a couple of days quicker than expected. Remember that he was predicted Rd 14 but maybe he'd be fit for Rd 12 if their game was a Sunday. ;) So it could just be a couple of days buddy. :)
