Football Factory

#135
U18 Championships

Player to Watch: Andrew Boston / Queensland

"A Queensland Scorpions representative in his 17th year, he is now in his second full year of senior NEAFL football and is now an established member of the Broadbeach FC. He is an exciting midfielder, with very good skills on both sides of his body. He has great leadership skills, a great thirst to succeed and he also has the ability to kick a bag of goals, as has been evident in the NEAFL competition so far this year."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Player to Watch: Jimmy Toumpas / SA

"A skilful, hard inside running midfielder who kicks goals. His ability to be calm under pressure showed in the 2011 SANFL Grand Final for Woodville West Torrens."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ben Rioli / Northern Territory

"A late developer but has made his mark in back pocket for the Territory Thunder in the NEAFL Season. Although slightly built he has a rare sense for the game. His composure, courage and run from defence earned him the NEAFL Round 6 Rising Star Nomination and was inspirational in the Thunder’s come from behind win against the Sydney Swans Reserves. Football character of the highest order â€" Rioli is certainly one to watch."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Player to Watch: Lachie Whitfield / Vic Country

"An AIS â€"AFL participant who has had great success at past years at National level, good decision maker with great poise. Looking forward to his leadership qualities this year."

Andrew Boston is a dirty prick.

Played against him and he wasn't that special at the State Champs two years back.

luke hodge if he can get over his injuries and is a mpp again (he wont be)
but would be dirt cheap

hopefully he returns this season in Defense

+1 if he goes to defence. All these good Midfield rookies so far. Might go  Gary Ablett +7 rookies then stack the forwards and backs!

Midfield could go: Ablett, Whitfield, Viney, O'meara, Crouch, Lee (Essendon he is a magnet), Tom Mitchell (If he doesn't get a game this year) and Ben Kennedy. Thats only around 1.3m on the mids. Gives you a stack leftover for defence and Forwards.

Joe Daniher: Prospect top 3 pick in the upcoming "superdraft" but already agreed to terms with essendon to go as a father/son pick with Essendon's first round pick (15-30) so he won't be too expensive.  200cm ruck/forward who should get the DPP - already working with Essendon to get his body right for round 1 next year and with hurley/ryder/crameri/gumbleton occupying the essendon forward 50 it's hard to see him drawing the best defender. A must have for next season in my opinion.

I doubt he'll play many matches in a team that'll push for finals, its like Lycett at West Coast, they'll take the luxury of giving him time to develop IMO
I think they are trying to get him to play rd 1 next year.

+1

Although if he cuts the dreads I will have my doubts. Look what happened to Bateman!

Obviously pretty early to tell but could dayne zorko be considered next year?? Will be pricey but the way he plays is suited perfectly for DT??

If he is a M/F i suppose you would have to consider him .. but unlikely for me

I.Smith and Mzungu were similar prospects from last year but i didnt put either of them in this year

have a good look at the SA rookies, they reckon 5 of them could go Top 10 (Toumpas, Menzel, Kennedy, Grundy, Mayes)

A smokey IMO from SA is Sam Colquhorn - got 25 touches or more in his 3 U18 games and could be a unique pick.. been playing off half-back but also on the ball, DEF/MID maybe?

Wtf, how do you pronounce that??? :P

Here's how:

It's Col-hoon! he is getting heaps of the ball and that's how the commentators are saying it on FoxFooty

DT Gun

For all we know half of these guys wont even get picked up
