Gary ablett doesn't get 36 possessions and 35 are uncontested.

yeah pretty sure I covered that, and hows this

Ablett: avg 35.7 disposals, avg 16.4 contested possessions ratio 2.2:1
Stanton: avg 27.5 disposals, avg 10.6 contested 2.6:1

the ratios are almost equal, do some research fool

so what your saying is Gaz gets 6 more contested pos a game?

from 8 more disposals a game and being the premier ball winner in the team

stanton doesn't need to win his own ball, if he was in the contest with watson, howlett, lonergan there would be no link up player to make run and carry the ball, everytime a midfielder wins the ball they see stanton in a beautiful position (because of his gut running) who makes the plays

furthermore Stanton disposal efficiency is 7% better than Ablett, Stanton plays his role perfectly

doubt people are gonna remember players as legends of the game for their disposal efficiency skills.... Stanton is a quality midfielder but I'd take GAJ over him anyday

just re-saw this, normally I agree with you, but this comment is ridiculous, players wont be remembered because of the most important skill in AFL?! disposal efficiency is everything in footy, what do you think makes a good player?!

Ablett dominates any player. Players like Stanton do shine when marks do not count and uncontested possession is worth less.

Outside players will have good disposal efficiency I'd have thought as they are not under pressure and when you get as many cheap marks as Stanton he has heaps of time to sum up the options....

Shut up. He can only score well if Essendon are winning.

If Essendon are losing he can't sit at the side of the pack and get the ball.

I haven't seen Stanton get ONE contested possession this year.

And we'll be winning a whole lot more next year...

Well he's a person, he needs to win some hard stuff like Watson. I don't pick Stanton in DT, cause I have no respect for him as a player.
