PLEASE CRITIQUE

Note: Players not playing in red.

Current Round 11 Team:

Def: Lids, Scotland, Goddard, Shaw, Broughton, Morris, Ellis, Townsend, Spurr

Mid: Stanton, Ablett, Mitchell, Selwood, Rockliff, Horsely, C. Smith, McDonald

Ruc: Maric, Giles, Stephenson, Redden

For: Sidebottom, Buddy, Chappy, Danger, Martin, ROK, Hall, D. Smith, Zorko

Cash: $78,300, Trades: 14

Right now, gives me 5 donuts for round 11...

Round 11

Trade Scotland to Suckling and Horsely to Grimes (using DPP).

Leaves me with adjusted backs and mids of:

Def: Suckling, Grimes, Goddard, Shaw, Broughton, Morris, Ellis, Townsend, Spurr

Mid: Stanton, Ablett, Mitchell, Selwood, Rockliff, Deledio, C. Smith, McDonald

Cash: $16,600, Trades: 12

Brings it down to 3 donuts (much better).

Round 12

Trade Morris to S. Shaw (if named) and Ellis to Yeo (if named and swinging Lids back to the backs)

Leaves me with adjusted backs and mids of:

Def: Deledio, Suckling, Grimes, Goddard, Shaw, Broughton, S. Shaw, Townsend, Spurr

Mid: Stanton, Ablett, Mitchell, Selwood, Rockliff, Yeo, C. Smith, McDonald

Cash: ~$295,000, Trades: 10

This leaves me with 3 donuts (or 4 if C. Smith isn't name) for round 12 vs. what would've been 3 (or 4 without C. Smith, 5 without Smith AND Horsely if both weren't named).

Round 13

Downgrade a forward rookie (doesn't matter which) and trade JMac (or C. Smith if I've given up on him) to Swan.

Leaves me with a team of:

Def: Deledio, Suckling, Grimes, Goddard, Shaw, Broughton, S. Shaw, Townsend, Spurr

Mid: Stanton, Ablett, Mitchell, Selwood, Rockliff, Yeo, Swan, one of... C. Smith, McDonald

Ruc: Maric, Giles, Stephenson, Redden

Fwd: Sidebottom, Franklin, Chapman, Dangerfield, Martin, O'Keefe, two of... Hall, D. Smith, Zorko... and another rookie

Cash: ??, Trades: 8

This leaves me with 1 donut if I trade Hall/2 donuts if I don't (or 3 if Spurr isn't named) vs. 5 (or 6 without Spurr, 7 without Spurr and Smith)

Notes
1. I may end up trading out Giles in Round 13 if cash permits me to.
2. Obviously subject to Shaw returning in Round 13 and no other injuries

Please point out any "better" trade options you would consider or any flaws in this plan at all.
I'm feeling confident :)

its me lads

sounds good. im trying something very similar atm, my brain is in overdrive though :P. i find the more i think and play around with the trade centre the more i can do! tis great.

Yeah, this was a healthy (or unhealthy) combination of Excel and Trade Centre. Still not certain it'll all work though :/

Hopefully the late night procrastinators will have a looksie.

I can see everything going wrong very quickly LaHug...like the plan though.

Colliwobblers

you've done it right thats all there is to it, my only issue and while my round 12 and 13 are only going to give me one donut a round (if all players play) round 11 for me is a write off with 7 at the moment with scotland shaw pendles horley and 5 round 11 in fwd line.

My CONCERN is trading in rooks without job security, likely the downgrades you do now are the final trades and with resting and short term injuries can you afford not to have "the best" and most likely to play rooks on your bench for the rest of the season?

I'm a gambling man ;)
But seriously, that's my concern too. Sadly, my current rookies are hopeless anyway (other than in the forward line) so I'd be trading out low scoring or low JS rooks for others of close to the same quality... Who knows, I could find a diamond in the rough?!

Well remember it is dt so if there is any remote chance of something going wrong, it will go wrong.

I don't like how true that is... :-\
