so does anybody else think ppl give out boo's to easily or often?

does anybody actually like having the option to get booed or boo someone i think it brings negativity to the site and scares away new members

why not just have a reputation system where users can give someone a +1  to someone

for example whatlez and coliwobbles are great members of the site and give well respected advice but still has so many boo's i know they have lots of cheers to

i prob care to much about it and will prob cop more boo's for this post but wanted to have my say

Justin Bieber

I like the mention, but yeah like on body building websites have like rep. You get a rep power and it gets bigger. I like that.

Also don't you want your name changed to kilbluff1985?? Lol

lol many sites have the rep idea not just body building

and yeah i would like my username changed but not looking likely lol

Colliwobblers

yeah agree boo's are totally unneccessairy, a bit of a deterant from posting rubish, but agree with the points you make, people who post rubish will do it if they get booed or not, booing because you disagree with a post of someones is where most of it comes from.

:)  take the good with the bad, doesn't bother me personnaly but new guys asking stupid questions "because ther are new" and getting booed 20 times is a good way to send them looking for another site.

Hard to sort the trolls from the noobs at times..  Noobs we want, grow the site - trolls we don't !

maybe we need a troll button  :D

I think most people by nature hand out boos more frequently.  How often do we criticise rather than praise each day?

Personally do not pay much attention to it as I comment on how I see the answer to question being asked or put my opinion on topic and that satisfying enough to me.

Agree the hardest part of the forum is identifying trolls and I think most of us have been caught in the past.

Cheer/boo ratio will not stop me posting on this excellent site especially coming from Queensland where we are AFL news is not the most important sport for media.

upthemaidens

mods should be banning trolls more often,,i understand they will just create a new profile, but still...
...anyhow the system is flawed, but i doubt anything will be done about it..  half the time u cant even get on this site

CFC 1979

cheer for you Ringo ;)

Windigo

monstrum

It's weird hey.

LaHug has a lot of Boo's when he does a very good job with captain segment.

I think some people are jealous or something.

No LaHug gets cheered when he gets the captains right.

When he gets it wrong he gets boo'ed lol.

I deserve them too! I mean, if your opinion and attempts at predictions are wrong, you're obviously a bad person who shouldn't give advice :P. The boos indicate my advice isn't worth listening too ::)

But on a serious note, aside from the week when I got lots wrong and was actually a little bit pissy about the boos I was getting, I just ignore them entirely. Take the "cheer" count as an indicator of how good/helpful someone is (or interesting) and take the boo count as an indicator that the person isn't afraid to voice their opinion or try to help even though they could end up being wrong...
