Breaking the rules

OK, so the generally accepted rule this week is "Don't trade in week 1 of the byes!". I am thinking of breaking this rule.

Here's my explanation. I don't have Ablett. Ablett is going to continue to rise in price. So I'm trading in a player who has a bye in the coming weeks.

I'm thinking the best way to do it would be to downgrade Magner to 'insert name here' and then upgrade Horsley to Ablett (thereby still having a Gold Coast player there and that trade in itself not affecting my bye structure). The question is, who comes in for Magner? Obviously Magner is very handy in avoiding donuts as he is almost guaranteed to play each week.

Please provide opinions / thoughts. Thanks for your help guys.

the rule was dont trade in round 11 to a roudn 12 or 13 player to cover a bye as it will make another one. What your doing is simply and upgrade so there is no problem with it. Good trade becasue ablett is a beast.

Thanks lads.

good feedback and appreciated.

I traded Ablett to Swan. So all in all, proving to be a bad trade, although at least this time I have kept Swan and so will have both subject to being able to trade in Ablett.

Will check out wobblers rooks - ta!

Dang, when it said breaking the rules I thought you were gonna do a sideways premo trade or something & I was gonna call ya a rebel without a cause  :) alas. I read on this site that Mitchell (SYD) might be worth a gamble if named this week (for the Magner downgarde that is). Then theres the obvious Collingwood rooks but no real standout bubble mids or any possie really.

Just to continue, of the rooks available this week Bootsma (despite the one price rise) is prob my most preferred downgrade.
