WOBBLERS ROOKS ROUND #11

Here we are again, this time in Round 11, and may the carnage begin.

A QUICK WORD ON TRADING DURING THE BYES

While pretty easy to set your team up for the round 11 bye and things might be looking good at this point, fact is that if you have no donut's for round 11, it means your going to have to trade 6 times to over the next two rounds to minimize your total donuts for the 3 bye rounds to 2.

That is if every player you have plays every round they are supposed to. We already have Pendles out for 1, Waters out for 1, Scotland out for 3, and clouds over Swan, Heppell, JSelwood, Shaw and a number of other players, not to mention the issues surrounding selection for all the rooks we are hoping to play over the 3 rounds.

If like me you are not prepared to trade a round 12 or 13 rook in this week for your round 11 rooks to get down to zero donuts for round 11, knowing that to do so is just to move your donut to a later round, OR to have to re-trade the player you trade in back out again before that round to avoid the donut in the later round. Then the Carnage begins now.

To me TWO trades to avoid ONE Donut is worth it only if you have a LOT of trades left, given the injury onslaught we have faced this season I think it best to hold those trades for the long term prevention of Donuts.

However an example below shows what you should be doing,

Say your Mid is SWAN - STANTON - ABLETT - THOMO - BOYD - horsley (jmac - zorko)

11 = 4 (2 donuts) 12 = 2 ( 0 donuts) 13 = 1 (0 donuts)

You should be trading one of those round 11 rooks to a round 13 premium OR rook- an upgrade/downgrade you likely would do anyway and spares you a donut in round 11.

Then after round 12 you would either downgrade Horsley to a round 11 or 12 rook or upgrade him to round 11 or 12 premium, getting you back to 2 round 13 players and no donuts in your mids for round 13.

So that's just one example of trading through the byes to reduce donuts, but not wasting trades in doing so, making trades to upgrade and downgrade that you would do anyway but at the right times with the right players to avoid unneccessairy donuts.

ROOKIE STUD OF THE ROUND: Stephen Coniglio - 115 uP $8,800 New BE 54 Avg 76 cost $339K

For those of us that had him and knew he was the one sure thing in rookie land for 2012 - why did we trade him out! For those that still have him well done hope he was on your field, Now it is time to decide to bench for good or say goodbye.

ROOKIE DUD OF THE ROUND: Kyal Horsley - 38 DowN $5,300 New BE 112 Avg 86 cost $309K

Ok so there were worse rookie scorers this round, but none by players so many of us were starting and counting on a decent score from. Subbed out of the game, lost some cash BE 112 going to lose more, for me he has to stay until after round 12 then he will be turned into Thompson or Boyd or Stanton all with very high breakevens and all who should me a lot cheaper after thier next game. (Swan and Pendles) I already have would be the other obvious choices for getting on after thier next game and price drop.

Bringing in Crozier this week... Am I crazy?

depends on why your doing it and whether it will save you a donut or not, won't you just get a donut in round 12 instead of 11 or are you planning to trade crozier or another round 12 player in his line out after round 11?

Its the 200k from Jmac that tempts me... By trading here I have the dough for an upgrade than in turn saves a donut in round 11.

My head hurts.

Colliwobblers

wait and see if tom motchell or anthony morabito are named first or marley williams would be the best cash making bye covering option going, should get a few more games while swan and or pendles are out cost nothing and will go straight up next round if he gets a game round 13 you'll have made $100k or so from him.

unlikely he will hold his spot but could cover for the byes and make you some cash, but if you want someone to keep for the bench hope tmitchell or amorabito are named because they will be a lot more likely to hold thier spots and provide bench cover for you later in the season, especially morabito.

if you didn't care about the round 11 donut you'd downgrade to miles, he should be back from injury round 12 but MASSIVE risk picking him without knowing if he will be back or named for round 12. Clifton is another that can't be far away
