well if anyone is going to do it Buddy is the man, would have top be one incredable game though

Cicjose

he is currently the only player in the game that could get as close and/or over the mark.......

will he......... it would be nice

mind you i think Melbourne fans want something to look back on because of where they are at right now

Fred Fanning 18 goals has the record just be grateful that he still has it

In Round 19, 1947 Fred Fanning kicked 18 goals, 1 point in a game against St Kilda which is a record for most goals in a VFL/AFL match, still standing to this day

I have this book at home that tells me all the stats prior to 1998

Fred Fanning's record 18-goal haul for Melbourne against St Kilda at the Junction Oval is a landmark which has now stood for 55 years, and will probably never be beaten.

Perhaps equally remarkable is that it was also his last game of league football.

Fanning had kicked 10.4 the week before against Footscray, and in the last round of the season, managed his 18 from just 19 shots at goal.

St Kilda defender Stan Le Lievre recalled the nightmare 50 years later.

"Nobody wants to put their hand up to playing on him but it doesn't worry me," he said.

"The ball was coming down quickly from blokes like Norm Smith, and Fred was a very big man, hard to get around. Somebody said I should grab hold of his footy nicks and pull them off every time the ball came down, but they would have run out of nicks."

Fanning finished the year with 97 for the season, still the Demons record, but at just 25, immediately left the club to coach Hamilton for 20 pounds per week. Melbourne had been paying him three.

I think you should throw it out because, it has no SANFL stats :P or does it?

if someone was gonna do it money was on Dunstall surley? wow thats some record! mabye Jack Watts will beat it! or his brother (Fergus to Adelaide first round draft pick)  ::)

anyway good luck to Jack and mabye, Taylor Walker will suprise us all,

ok i'm talking shower but, Buddy has given us all hope again! howcome he only scored 13??

pyronerd

no he won't, I would be extremely surprised if he beat the 13 he kicked today, similar to Tony Lockett's total goals, or Micheal Tuck's games record, I don't think this will ever be beaten

Cicjose

it has the port history from 1870 so they are mostly sanfl stats haha

Dunstall should have beat that record tho before this
