The Pacific Islanders Round 10 Team Sheet

After a dismal performance last week against the Armadillos where only 3 players cracked tons, the Islanders playing group were put through a few rigorous training sessions during the week as we all look to improve this week against the Wolves. As it's been mentioned, this a season-defining game for us, a loss here will make it difficult to play finals, but a win will see us rejoin the top 8 and produce a good platform going forward.

Some players have been put in heavy notice, knowing that they are playing for the future at this club. Recent performances from these players will no longer be tolerated, and this week is their last chance. This being said, the axe has already fallen, with several changes being made this week.

Simon Black is the biggest absentee this week, as he looks to recover from a knee injury that he suffered a fortnight ago, but aggravated during last's week match. Levi Greenwood makes his long-awaited WXV debut this week and we wish him well for this weekend's match. Other changes have been listed below.

Team Sheet

DEF: Matthew Jaensch, Josh Gibson, Tim Mohr, Tom Simpkin
MID: Chris Judd, Dion Prestia, David Ellard, Daniel Kerr
FWD: Drew Petrie, Andrew Walker, Quinten Lynch, Sam Reid
RUC: Darren Jolly

INT: Levi Greenwood, Lewis-Roberts Thomson

EMG: Jamie Elliott, Nick Smith, Cameron Wood

CAPT: Chris Judd
VCAPT: Andrew Walker

IN: Tom Simpkin, Levi Greenwood, Lewis Roberts-Thomson

NB: This team sheet is now final.

Mids: L Jetta, K Jack (C), L Shiels, S Selwood
Fwds: T Cloke, B McGlynn, L Dahlhaus, K Tippett(VC)

Inter: L Parker, H Hocking

Was planning on dropping a few players but now need them due to some outs >:( Jack gets the captaincy this week as Selwood hasn't been scoring as well lately. Cloke gets another chance as there are no decent forwards to bring in for him. Blease & Mckenzie come into the squad as emergencies & are close to playing.

IN: Stratton, Jetta
OUT: Shuey (Suspended >:(), Pears (Omitted)

Pumas Round 10 Team

Def - Waters, Houli, Thompson, Tuohy
Mid - Ablett, Cross, Sloane, Wallis
Fwd - Roughead, Zaharakis, Blair, Wright
Ruck - Minson
Int - Hartlett, Motlop

Emg - Hannebery, Whitecross, Armstrong

Captain - Gary Ablett
Vice Captain - Beau Waters

In - Zach Tuohy, Jarryd Blair, Matthew Wright, Steven Motlop
Out - Alex Silvagni, Brendan Whitecross, Devon Smith, Sam Jacobs

Some big changes this week with Jacobs and Whitecross both missing their first games of the season. Whitecross seams a little out of form and we feel a week for the Oncillas will do him good, the same going for Smith and Jacobs, whilst Silvagni is in need of a rest and wont be playing at all this week.

In comes Tuohy in to defense, whilst Blair makes a return to the squad after being omitted last week. This round we have another 2 debutantes with forwards Matthew Wright and Steven Motlop showing a lot of promise in the reserves and have worked hard for this opportunity. They become the 25th and 26th players to pull on a Puma guernsey this year :)

Purple 77

Following the Brewers dreadful 969 last week, coach Purple 77 flagged changes and he has done just that, bringing in Will Schofield for his second game and two debutants in Tom McDonald, who scored exactly 100 points last week for the reserves, and Shane Edwards, who has scored 76, 98 and 88 in his last three weeks for the reserves. Purple 77 says the boys have earned their spot basically through solid form and the lack of manpower in the backline, which has been injury ravished with Michael Hibberd, Dylan Grimes, Andy Otten and Lachlan Henderson all out with injuries. But Purple 77 has promised that if the boys score well, their spot will be safe, no matter who is coming back from injury.

Purple 77 has omitted high-draft pick Sam Darley, steady backman Alipate Carlile and fringe midfielder Daniel Jackson, whose omission was decided almost through the flip of a coin between him and Edwards. The former Richmond boys are very similar in their roles for the club and Purple 77 said it was tough making the decision, but he is confident Edwards will deliver, who has been considered unlucky because he has averaged 4 more points than Jackson this year and only earning his debut now while jackson has played 6 out of 9 games for the brewers this year.

Lance Franklin has been put on notice for his sub-par performance, otherwise the captaincy may be taken from him, warns coach Purple 77, "Lance has been struggling at recent times and we need a captain to consistently stand up for us when the game is down to the wire. As already made well-known, we have had a very disappointing year and we just can't accept below-standard performances, especially from our captain."

Purple 77 believed the match against the Eagles will provide a great challenge for his boys to respond to the unacceptable performance against the Destroyers. "lets just say the performance we'll get out of the boys this week will show their true colours."

Still looking for our first win of the season. Some changes with McQualter coming in after 2 great games for the Suns as well as a Senior Backman in Grundy being dropped for the youth in Shiel. Hopefully these 2 changes can help spark the team to its first win (Asking alot but at this rate, we have to end out losing streak sometime)!

roo boys!

Very important game against c4 this week! Pendles will get the captaincy gig again, against the Suns, while Ben Hudson's return calls for some switching around.

Toronto Wolves Round 10
Defenders: Matt Maguire, Jared Rivers, Ted Richards, Michael Johnson
Midfielders: Scott Pendlebury, Sam Mitchell, Nathan van Berlo, Jack Ziebell
Ruck: Ben Hudson
Forwards: Jack Riewoldt, Angus Monfries, David Hale, Paddy Ryder

Emergencies: Aaron Edwards, Michael Jamison, Clint Jones
   Captain:   Scott Pendlebury

IN: Sam Wright, Ben Hudson
[coor=red]OUT:[/color] Aaron Edwards, Taylor Adams

Hudson comes back into the side and takes the number 1 ruck spot, with Ryder moved to the forwards at the expense of Aaron Edwards. Taylor Adams has dropped off lately and finds himself omitted from the XVIII altogether, with Sam Wright rewarded for some good form.
