Tom Mitchell
Height: 181cm    Weight: 79kg
Previous Club: Claremont
Price: ($98,700) MID

Background
Mitchell is contested ball, clearance specialist. The hard at it onballer has battled injury at times last season, but he was among WA's best when he came into the team late in the national under-18 carnival. His ability to win the ball and distribute it efficiently by hand is outstanding and he is also a long kick off his left boot. He returned to play colts footy for Claremont late in the season and amassed 45 possessions in his first game back from an injury layoff. Mitchell was part of 13th AIS-AFL Academy intake. Starred late in the U18 championships, averaging 28 disposals.

Verdict
Mitchell would of been a top 5 pick if he wasn't selected as a F/S pick was nearly in everyones team pre season his injuries have been a disappointment not only for SC/DT but for Swans fans as well. When he does debut he will be a star. Averaged 96 in 2 games in the U/18 Championships and a impressive 131 from 5 games playing for Clearmont. Will average around the 70-80 mark par the sub of course will be a good downgrade target.

Anthony Morabito
Height: 191cm Weight: 97kg
Previous Club: Peel Thunder
Price: $168,500 (MID)

Background
The impressive young midfielder missed the entire 2011 season after a knee reconstruction. His speed and power running was missed on a wing, but the exciting youngster should make a strong return after a full recovery period. Played 23 games in his debut season, breaking lines and kicking long goals.

Verdict
Morabito was close to playing last week against Collingwood but he was carried of on a stretcher during the WAFL with a suspected concussion after Mcgrath whacked his arm across Morabito's head during the game. Morabito had been playing well for Peel up until then he was in his 5th consecutive match since returning and was in good form. Morabito's has been averaging 17 disposals and has been running well so far. He could return next week against Melbourne. When he does expect he to start as the sub for a couple weeks then expect scores of around 60-70

Noz

Anthony Miles
Height: 181cm Weight: 77kg
Previous Club:
Price: $113,200 (MID)

Background
Anthony Miles is an inside midfielder from Howlong near Albury and is hailed as a natural leader having captained NSW/ACT at both the NAB Under”16 and Under”18 Championships. In 2009 Miles played 13 matches as a bottom aged player for the Murray Bushrangers in the TAC Cup, and in 2010 he played 11 matches to average an elite 27 disposals and 12 contested possessions per match. In both seasons he was runner”up in the Bushrangers best and fairest and in 2010 was selected in the TAC Cup Team of the Year. At the 2009 NAB Under”18 Championships he averaged 13 disposals and five-contested possessions while in 2010 his averages of 30 disposals and 13 contested possessions were both ranked number one. These efforts saw him selected in the 2010 NAB AFL U18 All”Australian team.

Verdict
During the preseason i had him in my team up until the round 1 squads were named, I amongst many really rate Miles i am quite disappointed he has only played 1 game this season having 15 possession resulting in 84 DT points. I had him in GWS best 10 players at the start of the year showed that in the NAB having 26 touches in 1 game. Was the only giant to average 100+ DT points last season. Will average in the 80s when he does play.

Noz

Steven Clifton
Height: 182cm Weight: 84kg
Previous Club: North Ballarat
Price: $130,700 (MID)

Background
Clifton joined the Giants via the 2010 NAB AFL Rookie Draft after winning three premierships with North Ballarat in the VFL and finishing as the joint-winner of the Liston Trophy in 2010. He played 11 NEAFL games with the Giants last season, averaging the third-most contested possessions and clearances of any Giants player, recording an impressive averaged of 21 disposals per game. Clifton averaged 84 DT points playing in the NEAFL last year and was one of the Giants best throughout the season.

Veridct
Clifton has had a bad run of injuries this year but when he does debut he will be the Michael Barlow of the year, Will average around the 85-95 mark, Wins his own possessions and uses it well. Playing against Sydney this week in the NEAFL and look out for him another dominating performance will force his way in the team.

Looking for a midfield rookie who's most likely to play rounds 20-23. I know it's a tough one to call and most people would suggest Murdoch at this stage, but Geelong rookies haven't been playing very consistently so far so I'm a little unsure

Honestly i think Allen will play the rest of the year, GC can't afford to drop him as he can play a vital role for his team and honestly can GC do any worse. Geelong will look to young guns,; Murdoch, Horlin-Smith and Schroder to play a few more games this season to get some game time experience in them, Probably not every game from here on. Adelaide's Mitchell Grigg, Saints Seb Ross, Freo pair Cameron Sutcliffe and Tom Sheridan could all play a role in the second half of the season. Kangaroos Brad McKenzie and Brisbane's Elliot Yeo may play a few more games towards the later end as well. Then there is also Tom Mitchell, Steve Clifton and Anthony Miles who will score well when the play.

My top 5: Miles, Mitchell, Allen, Clifton, Sutcliffe.

Jake Spencer as a Ruck downgrade? What do you think about that one?

Jake Spencer played last week and didn't look that promising with 17 hit outs amongst touches. Has 9 career games with a career average of 40 DT points. With Clark out for the year and Jamar's calf causing him problems i don't know when he will be back. Spencer could play a few games as the main ruck with Martin back up. Unless you really need the cash i wouldn't bring him in, As soon as Jamar is back Spencer is gone.

Upgrade t bugg or b ellis  :-\

Thomas Bugg - Price 255,100 breakevn 82
Brendan Ellis - Price $249,100 brakeven 38

Bugg has made the most money out of the 2 and does look like he will drop in price in the coming weeks, With a breakeven of 82 Bugg may continue to drop while Ellis should rise a bit more with a break-even of 38.
Then again Bugg can knock up the 80+ scores every now and then and could provide a suitable D8/9, While Ellis though he has been a victim of the sub the majority of the year he has shown he can't knock up them big scores when he plays a full game.

I would upgrade Ellis next week after he moves up in price next week, With a breakeven of 38 he should reach it. Bugg will provide you with a suitable D8/9 for the rest of the season.

anybody considering McIntyre or Murdoch as downgrades?
I did a review of McIntyre on page 6 and i don't think he will play week in week out for the rest of the season, With Adelaide set to be a top 4 side for the rest of the year they will be looking to set up there best 22 come the later part of the season, I don't see McIntyre in their best 22. So he won't provide good coverage on the bench.
I would prefer Murdoch out of the 2 as a downgrade options, Cats will be looking to their youngsters to shine come the end of the year and bring them towards the finals. This means the likes of Murdoch, Horlin-Smith, Brown and co will continue to get games.

This week at the selection table

GWS:
After a dismal lose Sheedy will be looking to swing the axe at numerous players, Several players will be in Sheedys sights to get the axe while a host of Giants will come in, After a lose in the reserves the UWS Giants did look promising though.
Israel Folau kicked 2 goals and looked lively all game, Spent some time at full forward and in the ruck and his tackling was a highlight of the game. Anthony Miles was the Giants best by a long way played superb in the guts be stiff not to get a look in this week. Tom Downie was amongst Giants best playing a good game in the ruck while Kurt Aylett and Matt Buntine both gave them plenty of run of the half back line and looked lively all game. Sam Frost continued his run of good form as this was his fifth consecutive game amongst the Giants best, Played up forward and looked lively.

Jonathan Giles will be due for a rest as his last month has been terrible and with Tom Downie playing good football he can be replaced,Jonathan Giles stint in the twos may be a bit longer than 1 week has his disposal efficiency has been shocking in the past month. James McDonald had a shocker game with only 8 handballs to his name before getting subbed out its time for James McDonald to step aside for a game or two and let Anthony Miles have a crack at AFL level.

Selections
Out: Giles, Wilson, McDonald, Kennedy and Edwards
In: Folau, Downie, Aylett, Buntine, Miles

*This is just what i think*

Justin Bieber

Did they say Giles has been playing terrible or you have just said that?

Cause he has only played 2 games since his 2 week break?

Noz

I just said that he hasn't looked in the best form and could require a stint in the twos, Downie deserves to debut.

Rookies that could debut in the coming weeks.

Tom Sheridan (Fremantle): Pick 16 in last years draft and was named as a emergency last week. He has been in ripping form recently in the SANFL highlighting a 25 possession and kicking 2.2 from 9 marks a couple weeks back.

Tommy is a ripper. Had him in my team more most of the pre-season as a POD. Dropped him after not impressing in the NAB Cup but should be a Gun. Hope to see him next year though as i don't really need to do anymore downgrades
So who gets the start??? Morabito or Sheridan??? I dont think they will change their line up any way after their win!!

I would suspect Morabito to get a gig maybe not this week but next week and with Sutcliffe playing well on the weekend this may push the debut of Sheridan back a couple of weeks.
