Okay so here goes guys. I have done a little bit of digging just out of curiosity and round something quite interesting i believe. Here are the top pies scorers over the last few games swanny has missed.

Scott Pendlebury  129
Dale Thomas    122
Travis Cloke    121
Heath Shaw    118
Sharrod Wellingham   105

Sharrod Wellingham   125
Luke Ball     124
Travis Cloke    117
Chris Dawes    109
Scott Pendlebury   104

Wellinghams scores leading upto and after these games were:

49
105
125

68
???

And clokes were
74
48
81
121
117

Now it may just be nothing but i think it is quite strange that wellingham was never as impressive with the mighty swanny playing.. Maybe a sign of things to come once he gets more confidence? Just some food for thought for next year or the year after :)

Also if these two fellas are standouts this week i think i will be somewhat of a psyhic haha ;)

Who were the opposition? Both Wellingham and Cloke are the type of players that will score well when Collingwood do well. Neither has to win their own ball.

Interesting pattern. I reckon Cloke is probably getting more ball because Swan can't hit a target to save himself! With Swan out, Wellingham and Pendles and others may get more ball and use it a lot better than Swan, thus the team's kicking effectiveness will go up, and Cloke's scores will follow. It's hard for Cloke to mark a Swan kick when it is grubbing along the ground or tumble punting into space. As you can probably guess, I think Pendles is a way better footballer than Swan! (Admittedly I do have a slight man crush on Pendles)

Yum yum yum yum yum! Its like a slow cooked meal, waiting all day for it to cook then bang! I hope youre right mate. (p.s. i think you deserve a cheer for doing that research. Not many go into that much detail).

The opponents were St Kilda and Melbourne
The pies played St Kilda twice that year and the game with swan involved the scores were as follows:

Wellingham   105
Wellingham (with swanny playing)   58

Cloke   121
Cloke (with swanny playing) 66
