Stanton v Pendlebury

I have a massive dilemna at the moment, big choice here.

Obviously on average you can't go past Stanton, but spending almost all of my cap on him makes me a tad nervous, and of course he could pump out a small score when everyone expects him to dominate. However, he does play Melbourne the week after.

The benefits of Pendles are that I will save about 60k and is a bit underpriced, the ceiling isn't as high though, and I am not sure if playing without Swanny will affect him - I doubt it would though. Also, Pendles has GC and Melbourne in the following weeks.

I have considered Scott Thompson but he doesn't suit my byes as well as these two, cheers.

ive got pendels....can't complain his killed it for me....was also thinking of going stanz/ablett/selwood....coudnt bring myself to spend $610K for him...has played very well so far...but chances are his due for a downer..he might also get rested at the end of the year...if bombers keep winning to keep him fresh.....so went jelwood..who should play most games during the year....also...value for money as should rise $20K or more..if he hits 110-120..as hes got a BE of 82....and he fits my bye rounds nicely...

Pendles... Stanton is a front runner who can't handle a tag ! Absolute crab and both him and essendon play fairy football. When they come up against real teams they have no answer !

Swan out shouldn't affect him, Pendleberries normally gets the no.1 tag anyways, he still guns it. Swan sometimes gets the tag off him if he's just racking up 35+ touches every week(or career best form). Most of the time Pendles is more damaging anyways. Even then he still guns it!! Racks it up, and can kick goals too.

Remember...Stanton is averaging and scoring the most in the competition. Stanton has scored 3 bags of over 150. In the last three weeks Stanton has had 193, 140 and 124. Stanton had one poor score of 77 yeah...Pendles had a 62. He's the best dream teamer in the country. Why wouldn't you pick him.

This is definately the crucial weigh-up if you're selling Swan, due to the byes.

You save $71k to be exact on picking Pendlebury instead of Stanton... Stanton's juicy fixtures over next 2 weeks make him hard not to pick, but Pendlebury is certainly a safe pickup - so many of the good teams have him! Tough pick, but if you've already got Ablett for captaincy material then maybe save the coin and get Pendlebury, grabbing Stanton after the byes.

Pendles has been starting with the tag and swan has been dominating then its switched in the first 10 minutes and pendles gets his free rain running around..

I expect pendles to score lowish 90-110 scores for the nxt fortnight

Whilst i don't disagree, I picked up Stants at the start both last year and this year, I would find it hard to bring in stants at $600k. Even though i have put the faith in him for 2 years, there is still a niggling feeling that he will spud up 30% of games and could lose you a league final... at his current coin i would go for Pendles, prob also means you can get another upgrade easier.

Pendles is a far better player, stanton not even in the same class as Pendles, but we're talking about fantasy footy here, if we were talking SC pendles by a long way stantons going well in SC but pendles will end up ahead of him FAR more consistant.

In DT however stanton is a SLUT, he will never be tagged while Watson is there, there are probably at least 1 maybe 2 others ahead of him in getting a tag also - and he will always score well with Watson there getting it out for him :). Think his scoring will drop somewhat surely he can't keep kicking as many goals as he has been but you have to at least strongly consider stanton for DT, pendles doesn't usually get as many cheap possessions as Stanton....

Stanton has to be given some credit. he clearly played half of last season with a bung shoulder, and he has improved his effectiveness by foot now, which was a knock for so long.

his endurance is second to none.
