Is anyone considering him? Selected to play his 3rd game this week.

Thanks to a suggestion here on these forums from Lions01. I am now considering doing this trade.

Currently have Cox, McIntosh, Giles & Redden
(I know i am going to struggle with round 11 byes but im ok with that as playing league & going to pretty much forfeit that match.)

Is it worth downgrading Giles to him?
How do you rate his job security?
or should i keep Giles & hope for another downgrade ruck option later in the year.

lts a shame for you that Walker wasn't back from suspension this week. l seriously rate Jenkins as a player, but am not sure how he fits in with Adelaides structures when they have a full list to choose from

there is room for a third tall, look at the record! McKernen had a go, Lynch also, but...

Adelaide want Kurt to play key pos, so that makes room for a third tall foward/second ruck, and JJ fits the bill

Even though I voted to keep Giles, Jenkins wouldn't be a bad move I think. He's a genuine ruckman as opposed to McKernan, so is much better support for Jacobs. Also, from the games I have seen he seems to influence the game a LOT more than McKernan ever has so far. If you had Stephenson as opposed to Redden as your 4th ruck I would say go for Giles>Jenkins easy.

I think he has done enough to keep his spot in the side(crows supporter here), he takes strong marks and can kick goals, quite athletic and can ruck when needed.

I don't rate McKernan either. It is a pretty good downgrade option, but one bad game might mean the door for Jenkins. Plus with all the ruck stocks dwindling and getting injured, Giles has been a solid and reliable option as either second ruck or emergency cover. I guess you could do it if you really needed the money, but for me a bit too risky tbh.

I'd keep Giles, cos he has much better JS and his scoring isn't far off what you'd expect from a premium ruck

Crows can really only play three out of Walker, Tippett, Jenkins and McKernan, and I reckon when Walker returns and McKernan is fit again (playing SANFL at the moment) those two will be swapped in and out of the side quite a bit

Could be good for bench cover but I don't have the balls to do it  :P

I've been considering this move. Jenkins now appears to be keeping McKernan out and I'm always a fan of mature priced rookies. It's line ball for me tbh but I need cash and Zorko sucks for my bye structure so might skip him and grab Jenkins instead

was it mckernan or henderson, i can't remember one went out suspended and thats when this guy came in. He will have to start to keep his spot.

The other thing is if he doesn't play in round 12 or 13 how will your rucks be during the byes?

BIG RISK - BIG GAIN if he holds his spot for the rest of the season. Unlikely in my humble oppinion.

you are forgetting tommy Lynch guys! but JJ has played better football than all these other fringe players!

This has helped me to decide not to downgrade Giles as to risky to bring in Jenkins due to job security.
