Firstly, I want to say I probably will not do this... but, has anyone thought about sideways trading a rookie to Gia (who is priced at 300k).

Gia has fallen around 130k this season and has well and truly bottomed out.  Could he be a great first bench option going forward?  - Especially if you need to MPP some Fwds into your Mids to cover byes?  He had some awful, uncharacteristic 30's back-to-back to drop his price.. but he has pretty much averaged 80 otherwise (77.6 to be completely accurate).

He has averaged over 80 since 2005 and we all know what he is capable of when he is set loose in the mids rather than the fwd role he plays most weeks.  His fwd role will likely continue with the emergence of Dahlhaus, Liberatore, Wallis and Picken competing with mid powerhouses Boyd, Griffen and Cross - although a half flank fwd role should still see floating around the guts and sneak a couple of goals (in theory).

The veteran 200+ games, who turned 30 in March may be over the hill... but if you are a forward thinking coach, could his inclusion into your side be the best move you could make?

Anyway, I am not saying do it or don't. Just some food for thought because no one else has mentioned him thus far (that I have seen).

;)

He is a guy that can make or break a match-up.

This option could work if your team is consistently good.  But if I had a team full of rollercoasters like Duffield, Shaw, Broughts, Cloke and others that tend to go up and down occasionally.. I wouldn't.

Justin Bieber

I only have shaw of those mentioned...

I'm happy with Gia till byes. Got a good bye.

to be honest hes probably not good enough to get a spot in my team no matter the price.. well maybe as a EMG.,but certainly wouldnt get a start on the ground

That was the point. Gia could be the best fwd cover come finals

yeah mate i'm definitely considering it. could almost straight swap him for shiel.

if swanny goes to arizona and if pendles is somewhat injured, my last two mid upgrades may have to wait a while, therefore until then, gia could be a perfect cover and then sit pretty as my F8...

That's the thinking!  I know I'd rather fall back on a Gia rather than a Jeremy Cameron for example if one of my premo fwds were to cop an short term injury...

Justin Bieber

I already have Gia lol.

And he's hitting form.
