With Swan and Reid off in the last quarter, was fantastic to hold on. Hopefully not long out for the both of them.

I'll start - the 50 metre penalty against Hunt on Fasolo was CLEARLY a 50m penalty. Everyday of the week!

Umpires had dodgy moments on both sides I thought. Saw Daisy get smashed in the head three times in one tackle and nothing. Plenty of others

Geelong (as a team) looked to be moving so slowly around the ground. Every time Collingwood made a switch or won a contested ball and moved forward quickly, Geelong just didn't react and get back as quickly as they have in the past. In no way am I writing them off, but they didn't look like the same team they did last year. Plenty of skill errors from both sides as well.

For Geelong to have more tackles, scoring shots, I50s, free kicks and clearances and still lose is awfully uncharacteristic.

I don't think I have seen a team get so many scoring shots from frees. (Geelong had a ridiculous amount) Therefore if they want to complain that it shouldn't have been a 50m, think about it has an equaliser.

Thought goldsack stepped up, went hard at it and just didn't turn it over. Great stuff.
Sinclair is improving every game, he just reads the play so flowering well but his disposal is often, for lack of a better word, terrible.
Steele is awesome. Proving to be a massive player this year.

From a Neutral observer and watching on TV only thought the umpiring was reasonable last night. Few things missed but it went both ways. All 50 metre penalties given were fifty any time of the day.

One thing though if these teams are to be top 4 considerable improvement is needed by both as at times disposals were average at best.

That's harsh! The Pies have won more games than any other team the last 2 years, and your logic is if a team loses to them they are going bad?


Some people (not saying you Zip) say that the Pies are playing badly. No, they just aren't playing as well as they can be. Btw, playing badly and still winning 5 in a row is a decent place to start.

no, you misunderstand :P

geelongs just had the mental edge on collingwood over the last couple of years, last time the pies beat the cats was in 2010... they didnt lose to a single team last year, except for geelong, 3 times... they've been your kryptonite :P so, by winning against them, either pies are going to flog dominate this season as well (unlikely since they've already had a couple of losses), or geelong has seriously slid.

Last year, the first match could have easily been won by Collingwood if not for a terrible umpiring decision, the 2nd match was pathetic BUT WAS a dead rubber, the 3rd match Geelong was simply too good.

But yes, good to have at least a little bit of the monkey off

The only thing that matters to me is the result. My only concerns lie in Reid, Swanny and Pendles now.

What a game! When the pies lost reid and swan the game totally changed. Just goes to show how dominant Swan is ...
