Thanks for all the support guys!!!
Might drop basketball for something like Table Tennis ;)
Hoping for a speedy recovery as I don't know how much more sitting around I can handle. Three months was plenty...

Tominator

how long are you out?

Have you qualified for a disabled parking permit yet? hahaha

how the flower did you break your foot???
Landed on someone's foot playing basketball and rolled my foot/ankle over his. Tendon pulled the bone a bit too hard... :(

lol, that's pretty much how I did mine, except mine was a ligament, not a tendon, hope your recovery is faster than mine (my ankle locking up on top of the ligament damage associate with the break means that even though I broke it on the 6th of april, it's still not fully healed (the bone was fine in like 2-3 weeks though), and probably wont be for another 2 months or so).

basically, drink a flowerload of milk, and hope it heals up in like 2 weeks, then get rid of the cast/ moonboot asap... even though the doctor reckons mine healed in a little over 2, I had my boot on for 4 and lost so much flowering mobility lol.

thats just bad luck mate. Dont give up on basketball but take atleast a year off and get yourself 100%.
Trust me its for the best.

I thought that i was injury prone (touch wood) but i think you have me just this year.

I only had a dodgy hammy, bells palsy and wisdom teeth out this year

I drink so, so much milk...
Also, I'm not going to need a boot or cast (yay) because of the type of fracture it is. Apparently I just need to wear a bandage and keep weight off it for now.

I'm trying to outdo my 2007. That year I strained my PCL, got patellar femoral syndrome, broke my thumb and broke my arm. Since then I've been basically injury free (minor things here and there but only one or two week injuries). This year has been a horror so far. Even though it's only two injuries, the first was a 3 monther and this one may end up being a while as well. Keeping fingers crossed!

Mate, drink heaps of prune juice if you are taking endone, I don't care if you don't like the taste, trust me

If you're implying that I'm going to be constipated, please confirm this. I am officially worried... :/

Just a little catch up for anyone interested. My foot healed in about 6 weeks so, with the assistance of an ankle brace, I've been fine to play basketball. I made it back just in time for finals (and we won our Grand Final by 25 points - win!)
Five weeks ago, I broke my pinky. Fortunately, this is a tiny injury compared to the other two so, after a week on the sidelines, I was straight back in with a splint. It's on my shooting hand which is a bit annoying but I've adjusted successfully.

And that's a year of showerty injuries!

elephants

Just thought I'd share my own little injury yarn..

Busted my ankle for the third time in about 18 months all doing different things!

1) Playing sumo-wrestlers at recess in 2011
2) Playing tennis in 2012
3) Playing footy today

Icing, Compressing and Elevating hard atm :P

What a great bunch of athletes we are.

I went to training for the first time last night after doing ankle ligament damage the week before easter.

Stil cant push of on my left foot.

Pic to follow

Not good hey tabsy, I'll post a pic up later too if I can get around to it. Wasn't pretty.

Is there anything you can do to stop rolling your ankle so badly or is it just one of those unlucky things? Happens to me wayyy too much.
