Not good hey tabsy, I'll post a pic up later too if I can get around to it. Wasn't pretty.

Is there anything you can do to stop rolling your ankle so badly or is it just one of those unlucky things? Happens to me wayyy too much.

do you have it taped up when you play sport?

if you dont I woudl seriously start thinking about learning how to do it.

stretch before and after sports and something that is very important but people never think about it is learn how to take a hit/ fall down. When people get tackled and they know they are going down they still try and fight it. I dont If i know im gone I make sure I go to the ground the safetest way possible.

sneaky benefit is i get free kicks too, taking a dive definately can stop injuries though.

Played sport my whole life never got an injury and only a few bruises and swolen ankles.

Yeah I don't tape them but probably should for soccer.

These ankles are really the worst I've had bar stress fractures from cricket aaaaages ago :P

definately start doing it, there is a reason why alf players tape themselves up, it really can add alot of support. Unfortunately i think you have to do it everytime you play for at least a while possibly whenever you play.

you probably already have this sorted but make sure your shoes arent too lose around the ankle, they should be tight to stop slipping around the heal. Also make sure when you go for a tackle to plant your foot into the ground for support. I told my sister that she told me i was stupid, played her first real game and broker her ankle.

Yeah cheers man, I'll definitely look into it now :)

This ankle injury was a bit freakish running backwards and stepped into a little hole and rolled it that way. My ankles are pretty loose and are prone to rolling because of how badly I've done them in the past. So yeah, will look to invest in some tape and tighten the old laces. Cheers for that mate!

Here are the exercises that my physio gave to me to do, each for a minute
1-Balance on my left foot
2-Balance on your left foot with your right foot out front (parallel to the ground, or as high as you can go)
3-Balance on your left foot with your right foot behind you (parallel to the ground, or as high as you can go)
4-Balance on your left foot with your right foot  (parallel to the ground, or as high as you can go) on your right
5-Balance on your left foot with your right foot as far across you body on the left side as you can go
6-Repeat 1-5 on your right foot
7-Foot stretches using a theraband
www.orthonc.com/forms/hep/Ankle_Theraband.pdf
8-Calf raises
9-Calf stretches
10-The hardest one, balance on each foot for a minute with your eyes closed (Its actually harder than you think)

Also if you do these stretches in door ways you you wont fall as far

Twisted my ankle today. Anything to take the pain from my knee lol

Ziplock

have you been to a podiatrist?

when I broke my ankle, turned out it was largely because me feet biomechanics were just flowered. Also why I did my knee and have back pain :(

my ankles still not better though... #itsbeenover14months

Wow! I didn't notice that I hadn't updated you guys about the eye injury I got this year.
Basically, I was poked in the eye and bled from the eye itself. The was also a lot of internal bleeding in the eye.
I was seeing double for about a month or so and then it began to die down. I still see double when I look right up (and particularly right up and to the left) so I should probably go back to the eye doctor. Was meant to be better by now...

What a great bunch of athletes we are.

I went to training for the first time last night after doing ankle ligament damage the week before easter.

Stil cant push of on my left foot.

Pic to follow
you need to colour your ankle in more Lahug

LaHug

Haha, nice. That picture was right after I broke my foot. It was plenty colourful by the end of the day (bruising takes a while!).
Is that broken bone or just ligament?
