i have both, but i would probably go for palmer if  i could only pick on of the two. palmer will stay out of trouble.

Palmer i hear is still sore. Mcveigh will be relieved with more help in the mids but is more likely to get suspended.

Anyone's guess who will be better but i would choose palmer as he is younger and is a key to the mids for his team

Palmer is sore and will be eased back, Harvey said it was only his 3rd season and he didnt want to rush him, it is more important that he plays 200 games (The West Australian Newpaper - http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/a/-/afl/6762046/fremantle-put-palmer-comeback-on-hold/ ). And Mcveigh is suspended for round one -http://www.essendonfc.com.au/news/news.asp?nid=7017. Either way you have a 0 round one, if that doesnt deter you i suggest Mcveigh, he is having a great preseason while palmer is still on a modified program.

And pretty much confirmed Palmer wont make Round 1. Plus there is match fitness etc ... McVeigh wins.
