Hi Monty, all
I'd be interested in some thoughts/analysis looking at players going to the 'next level', similar to the whole 3rd-year WR theory in NFL fantasy football.

Last year there were plenty of players that significantly increased their production, even excluding those coming of a low baseline for whatever reason (e.g. rookie, injury-shortened season etc).

Looking at previous years' data VS this year's crop of players could help in picking those who might take their production up those 15-25 ppg, i.e. the 'next level'.

I've had a peruse through the fanplanner (awesome tool) & come up with the below lists by position with a couple comments re trends etc - so.... who are the 2010 versions of the players below??

CENTRES
Montagna
Swan
Hayes
Dal Santo - return to form
Murphy - 3rd full yr
Sewell
J.Selwood - 3rd yr
Gibbs - 3rd yr
Watson
Vince - 2nd full yr
Winderlich
Davey
Ray
Sherman
A.Selwood
Tambling
C. Morton - 2nd yr
Mackay - 2nd yr

RUCKS
Clark - role
Jolly
Fraser
McIntosh
Ryder - role
Tippett - 2nd yr
Kreuzer - 2nd yr

BACKS this is the most surprising area to look at; some guys just seemingly come from nowhere; hardest to predict?
Goddard
Duffield
Hargrave
Thornton
Gilbert
R.Shaw
McMahon
Maxwell
Adcock - return to form?
Bower
Harbrow
McGrath

FORWARDS - much slimmer pickings, seems to be more about consistency & midfield play
Chapman - return to form?
Goodes - return to form?
Davis
Didak
Sylvia
Gray - games
Lecras - games
Byrnes - games
M.Morton

Not much of a trend there I would say. Plenty of guys coming form nowhere.

Justin Bieber

So many choices. Not much of a trend. Many of them just had breakout years while some of the others had new roles in their teams. e.g winderlich being used on the wing and not forward pocket. clark and ryder going into rucks instead of KPs.

Look for guys in new roles and are on the rise.
