on that note will Morton be this years leading goal scorer in the 2s and not get a game in the 1s like TDL of previous years??
Kicked another 8 v Lions on the w/e  but interestingly not included in their top 6 for the round.
yep like i said in the previous post

Morton kicked another 8 goals on the weekend in the 2s but was not one of the best mentioned.

Lions 11.20.86

Goals - Morton 8, Walsh 2, Davis, Thurgarland, Spanger, Cunningham, Moody, Bosschieter, Moore, Meredith

yeh but as i mentioned in the Swans posts, he needs a couple more weeks in the 2s to get some full games under his belt.
Then he has to break his way into the 1s team and get selected ahead of guys like

  • Parker (Gun playing well in the 1s)
  • Gordon (playing well in 2s and has been an emergency several times this year)
  • Danhan (Gun)
  • Jetta (Breakout year, flying)
  • Bird (Solid performer, unlucky to be a sub of late)

The only other way Mitchell comes in is for injuries or players getting rested. The swans have already had the easy part of their draw and from now on the only games that i can see players getting rested are against GWS (R14), Lions (R15) and GC (R18).

Also when he does come in he will get the vest
Just a thought, what do you think??

Pretty spot on Tabs.

Jetta, Bird, Hannas and Parker are now firmly in our best 22.

Gordon cant seem to buy a game, along with Moore. These guys should be in front of him for a midfield spot.

In defense Armstrong seems the most likely to come in, but the could thow Mitchell a chance.

If he gets one, there is every likelihood he will play so well Horse cant drop him!

probably, but it will be a great problem for the swans to have  :)

Any news on Tommy Mitchell?? Is he still injured?? or playing in the 2's?? does anone think he might sneak a game towards the end of the year if sydney decide to rest anyone before finals??

Samm79

Not sure if he is playing in the magoos but I think it will require about 4 injuries for him to nab a game at this stage.

Nothing too recent, he reinjured himself, and I think had one game in the twos. They had the bye last week.

TBH I cant see him getting a game this year. I dont even know how Parker is going to get back into the team

Yeh but Parker has only had 12 game in the 2s as they had the bye last week. If the 2s played last week then he may have played this week.

Spanger must be close as well.....O would not have thought that Walsh was ahead of Spanger??

For those that didnt see it. Jude Bolton was on the couch this week and said Mitchell has been put out to pasture for the year. Wont see him until next year...
