That's right it's time for the semi finals! WOOOOO ;D

Semi Final 1
SuperRadioactive Saints vs Crafty Carnies @ The Periodic Table

The first semi final pits minor premiers against 4th placed Crafty Carnies. SRS finished just 4 points ahead of the Carnies, but that means nothing now as it is all or nothing time. Both teams are in fine scoring form at the moment with the Carnies top scoring in the previous round and SRS top scoring the round before. The last meeting between these 2 teams was 2 rounds ago when SRS defeated the Carnies 82 to 66. From the 4 meetings this year SRS holds a 3-1 win advantage and look likely to progress to the grand final. But when looking at the scoring stats the Carnies are the second highest scoring team out of the final 4, whilst SRS are the lowest and so could cause an upset against the number 1 seed.

Semi Final 2
The Brown Trumpets vs Fletch's Fossil's @ Tina Arena

The second semi final is between 2nd and 3rd placed finishers TBT and the Fossil's. TBT have been the dominant scoring team this season, amassing a huge 1900 points from their 36 games, the Fossil's on the other hand have been doing it tough as every time they score well their opposition tends to as well, making most games mighty interesting with them involved. The smart money is on TBT to progress with such a powerful forward line of RVP, Tevez and Ba, but Fletch will say he's in with a shot with his own impressive team led from the front by Aguero.

Two great semi finals in store. Who will win? :D

Now to the administration side of it. No more trades can be made before the semi finals so all squads are set. Teams have until 7pm on Saturday May 5 to submit their team sheets for the round.

Good luck to all involved :)

Title race heating up!
Massive advantage to DG with an RVP brace as captain...

Well it is a massive effort (as fletch can attest to from the previous year), but it's mostly because nobody else seems to care about it. A couple of teams stopped posting lineups each week, and there was never any discussion going on about the games or anything. I tried to build up discussion, but never seemed to work :(

Yeah, haven't had much time for Fanfooty in general and haven't been following any sport this year (including AFL compared to previous years). Wasn't going to join next season so that more keen managers can join in.

You and Fletch did a tremendous job though :). Usually gave you a cheer everytime I came on to read these threads (although they are usually after the round is finished as I don't know when they all are...). My discussion always comes to late -_-.

I know the feeling CF :-\

That is why I didn't want to run it this year. Thought I'd participate in the hope that things might pick up, but obviously not... :(

I might think about doing it next season if things are right in RL, but it will be invitational only if I do, and there may even be requirements that if they don't post their team for so many times in a row, that they are removed and a replacement found??

Just a thought.

It's fair enough CF. I just hope this competition still gets run next season as I'd love to take part in my first draft...

The only problem would be that it may be hard to find replacements... I do like the thought though Fletch! And hope that everything's right for you in RL.

RESULTS

Semi Final 1
SuperRadioactive Saints 52 vs 48 Crafty Carnies @ The Periodic Table

In an extremely close match the Saints come out victors over the Carnies, thanks mainly to the fact that the Carnies played with a man down after only being able to field 2 defenders. Adebayor (14), Clichy (11) and De Gea (8) tried to make up for one less player, but it wasn't enough to overcome the strength of the Saints, led by Hoolahan (11), Henderson (9) and Rooney (8). Congrats on the Saints for making the grand final!

Semi Final 2
The Brown Trumpets 53 vs 44 Fletch's Fossil's @ Tina Arena
The Brown Trumpets have charged in to the final after a 9 point win over the Fossils. Captain RVP did what he does best, scoring 26 points to make up for the lack of effort from his team mates (similar to what he does for Arsenal) with Boyce the next best scorer with just 6. For Fletch Aguero scored 12 as captain and Hart got 7, but whilst their second best scorer Agger (8) was stuck on the bench, whilst Vermaelen played and scored 0. Granted it wouldn't have changed the result, but a 1 point loss due to HG advantage may have been a better end for Fletch. As it is the Trumpets make it through to contest against the Saints.

So there we have it. The two finalists are the two that finished one and two on the ladder so it seems fitting. Good luck to both contestants :)

Fletch74

Well done DG on your win ;) Good luck in the GF to both DG and BS :)

Well done CF for all your work this season. I know it can be difficult at times to maintain the effort and even be bothered updating all the scores as well.

Super Effort.

BTW, what did I get for Grant Holt. Did he come onto the field as a replacement at all. he did score on the weekend?

DG

Thanks Fletch  ;) great season by yourself too! and 'hear hear' in regards to CF, great job mate, this has been a very enjoyable competition to be a part of  :D :D :D

CrowsFan

Thanks guys, nice to hear it's appreciated by some :)

Holt scored 6 points fletch and came on for Helguson who didn't play ;)
