Usually the teams that make the final also dominate their own leagues (1st or 2nd), but Chelsea will most likely finish 6th yet have still made the final, making them one of the showertest league teams to make it ;)

It's not like anything has changed since di Matteo has been in charge...

With AVB in charge Chelsea played 27 games getting 46 points, an average of 1.70 points per match, whilst on average scoring 1.74 goals per match and conceding 1.19.

With RDM in charge Chelsea has played 9 games getting 15 points, an average of 1.67 points per match, whilst on average scoring 1.67 goals per match and conceding 1.00.

Nothing changed whatsoever ;)

Not stat-wise but the AVB regime attempted to see Lampard moved on waaay too early.

Also Kalou was left on the outer which is mad cos I rate him.

I prefer RDM to AVB.

How about UCL performance? Down 3-1 to Napoli was the situation with AVB. I don't think they would have even beat Napoli if AVB had stayed on.

The points per game maybe the same but he has only managed 9 EPL games compared to 27. Arsenal started shower, first 9 games in EPL only picked up 13 points, worst than RDM's first 9 games, but over time they got their shower together.

Whilst we may never know, I think most agree that it is more likely that RDM rescued a sinking ship, rather than keeping it on course to hit an iceberg (pardon the poor use of metaphor). They could be playing for jack shower but guess what? They are UCL finalists and FA Cup finalists. Sometimes we need to look beyond stats as well. RDM also brought positive intangibles such as team harmony and chemistry. No signs of a team revolt, players are looking happy.

On the paper in the EPL he has done the same as AVB at this point, but outside of that, he has done way more. Most would also agree, the future looks brighter without AVB.
